Amazing Staff - Go that extra mile to help
I contacted the Hostel directly and communicated with Christina who was very helpful, kind and understanding. Christina went that extra mile and on took on board my Health and as Opodo was very unhelpful, in the end she actually contacted themselves and informed them to cancel the booking.
The service she provided was beyond my expectation and I would definitely stay at some point considering the outcome as the most important thing when staying at a Hostel is friendly and helpful staff and my experience indicates that this must be great Hostel.
Thank you ever so much Christina, you really are a star.

Very nice and charming!
Centrally located which made it easy to explore the city on foot,
Bakery around the corner and a great variety of restaurants.
Super nice and helpful staff who facilitated the stay for us.
Here we are happy to stay again great place.

My stay at the Santa Maria hostel was adventurous and so much fun,I have met incredible people
It was amazing as I met incredible people,it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.
The only downside for me which was my fault I got drunk on poncha one evening and left my bag on the floor and when I wake up my money was gone .
Never the less I had a fabulous time and I shall indeed go back ,and not get drunk on poncha as didn’t realise how strong that stuff is .Great location and very convenient access to all places in Funchal .Highly recommended,
