Located in Lisbon City Center, a neighborhood in Lisbon, Residencial Marisela is near the airport and near a metro station. Santa Justa Elevator and Rossio Square are notable landmarks and Lisbon Oceanarium is a popular area attraction. Gulbenkian Museum and Castle of São Jorge are two other places to visit that come recommended. While you're here, you can enjoy all the comforts of home and more, including free WiFi and a flat-screen TV, as well as towels and bed sheets. Other amenities include a phone, a desk, housekeeping, and luggage storage.

The room door had gaps so wide you could see straight through into the bedroom from the corridor, offering precisely zero privacy. The room itself was filthy, with visible grime that clearly hadn't been cleaned properly in a long time. The bed was so squeaky that every single movement sounded like a rusty gate, making it impossible to get any real rest. To make matters worse, the toilet made bizarre gurgling noises throughout the night, as if it had a mind of its own.
Soundproofing is non existent. You can hear every conversation, footstep, and door slam from the neighbouring rooms, so forget about a peaceful night's sleep.
The reception staff were the final straw. Rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful when I raised concerns. Several of them didn't speak a word of English, which made communication about basic issues nearly impossible.
Do yourself a favour and book literally anywhere else. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.

Good budget stay in a quiet and safe local area away from the tourist crowds
One of the strongest points is definitely the location. The neighbourhood feels safe, local and quiet, with very little traffic. Parque metro station is the closest one, and São Sebastião and Saldanha stations (Red Line) offer convenient connections to the airport. Parque Eduardo VII, Marquês de Pombal and Avenida da Liberdade are also only about a ten-minute walk away. There are several supermarkets nearby, including Pingo Doce, Aldi and El Corte Inglés, as well as restaurants and cafés.
Our room was spacious, with one double bed and one single bed, and everything was generally clean and well maintained. The bed sheets smelled fresh and clean, which we appreciated. We especially liked the old wooden plank flooring, which gave the room some character. The furniture was basic but practical: a desk, two chairs, a luggage rack, an old wardrobe, a flat-screen TV and a portable-style radiator. The walls looked freshly painted and in good condition.
The ensuite bathroom was spacious enough and clean, with a toilet, sink, shower and hairdryer. Hand towels, shower towels and hand soap were provided, although there was no shower gel or shampoo. Hot water worked well, but it took a little while before it started running hot. One small area of paint in the shower was peeling off, and the shower enclosure could probably do with some renovation, although everything was functional.
Our room faced an interior courtyard, which made it very quiet at night. The receptionist was kind and helpful, although we only saw him briefly during check-in and one other evening.
There were a couple of downsides. The free Wi-Fi was very unstable in our room, probably because we had one of the last rooms on the floor and the signal was weak there. Also, my partner noticed a slight smell coming from the bathroom pipes, although I personally did not really notice it. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is no lift, and the staircase steps between the reception level and the first floor were slightly uneven. The property also does not serve breakfast or have a dining area.
Overall, this is a good option for travellers looking for a quiet, safe and well-located place to stay in Lisbon without spending too much money.
