The usual.
The usual. This our stay at Pousada da Vila, in Óbidos, was as usual, excellent.
It is the comfort and comfort of the facilities and the sympathy and efficiency of the people who there welcome and accompany the guests. It is the tranquility of the place where the hostel is located.
That is why, as usual, we intend to return in May.

Just a renowned hotel and nothing else.
I found a room in this hotel without a prior reservation. There was one room left. It was unusual. No insulation, a tiny bottle of water available, nothing in the mini-mini bar, the bathroom faucets clogged with limescale, the shower poorly insulated, the carpet dirty and it did not smell good.
There is no breakfast and no check-out; you have to drop the key (card) in a box. You should not need anything from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM because there is no one available on site. A phone is located at the reception with a number in case of emergency...
In short, apart from the reputation of the Pestana chain, this hotel has absolutely nothing special. For a night at 130 euros, I find the value for money overrated!

Cependant, nous comprenons parfaitement que cette organisation n’ait pas été idéale pour vous et nous vous présentons nos excuses pour tout désagrément occasionné.
Nous comprenons votre point de vue concernant le rapport qualité-prix et prenons bonne note de vos remarques.

Guest house in local accommodation.
If your prospect is to find a Pousada with the traditional services of the Pousadas de Portugal. Forget it.
This Pousada, although belonging to the group of the Pousadas de Portugal, it is not at this level, because it has no Service. In that case, for me I give you a 6/10
If, on the other hand, you like and are looking for a local accommodation, this Pousada fits perfectly with what you want in terms of cleanliness and comfort.9/10.
Breakfast does not have, they do not serve and whoever wants, has to go to the real Pousada de Óbidos, that of the Castle.
However, P do Castelo guests have priority in terms of Service and availability.
It means that only in case they do not have clintel that fills the restaurant and breakfast is that they open the doors to potential customers of this Pousada.
This Pousada, although belonging to the group of the Pousadas de Portugal, it is not at this level, because it has no Service. In that case, for me I give you a 6/10

Everything it promised
We were notified well in advance (luckily) that the villa was accessible via cobblestones & to bring as little baggage as possible. We bought backpacks but still had difficulty with a clumsy fall by myself due to the heavy crowds of the medieval festival. Once we arrived at the villa we were relaxed. We had to call for a receptionist as I was unwell. Check in was easy & the room was really clean & very cute. Beautiful linens, lovely views through the windows & nice to be a few lanes away from the chaos of the main drag. There was no breakfast available which was disappointing & we were unable to locate any within the walls so we left & obtained it at our next stop Porto. The Villa offered everything it promised & we had a great sleep on very comfortable beds.

I took a bus from Lisbon to Obidos. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the bus drop off point. Though it was not an easy walk as the road isn’t flat. Recommend that you avoid bringing big luggage. While the hotel is within walking distant from the shops and restaurants and everything you need to see in Obidos, it is not at the main street from all the restaurants so you don’t hear much noise at night (a bonus for light sleeper).
The only suggestion I have would be an upgrade of the bathroom. Other than that, everything else was fine.
