Horrible, unbearable smell, no security and cockroaches everywhere

We booked Casa Visconde de Alacácer in Setubal from 04 to 06/08 via Booking.com.
Upon arrival on 04/08/2025 at 21:30, we saw that the apartment was on the ground floor.
After a tour of the apartment, here is what we found:
-The windows of the room overlooked a very busy street without any security. Normal windows without barriers against burglary.
-The front door was a broken window door that did not close and impossible to lock.
-The sofa bed was not prepared and impossible to open. It was not in good condition for our 2 children.
-We found cockroaches everywhere, in the bathtub, kitchen, bedroom and in front of the sofa bed.
But the worst part was the smell of the apartment. An unbearable smell that remained on our body for 2 hours until we took a bath.
-There were not enough kitchenware for 4 people, 1 large plate, 2 forks, 2 knives, 2 cups.
-There were not enough bath towels, only 2 large towels and 4 small for 2 adults and 2 children for 2 nights.
Broken walls.
There were cables lying on the ground, not very safe for children.
After talking with the owner by phone at 21:35, he explained that the linen for the sofa bed was under the sofa bed (we did not find it since there was no wardrobe) and for cockroaches this was normal because when the sea is high, the animals appear. Yet it is far from the sea and we have already stayed in several houses in Portugal even a few meters from the beach and have never had a home in such a state and smell.
Today 17/08/2028, I still have no refund and no reply to my email sent on 06/08/2025 to ASAE.

Unsanitary, the worst place I've ever been
Cockroach plague, rusty microwaves, poison from nooks and bedside, stains everywhere, I don't know if killing cockroaches or anything else, dirt, damp, bad smell, broken shower. Sanitation should close this accommodation

Never book!
Lack of cleaning, cockroaches walking on the floor, bathroom with hair on the wall, run-down and completely unkept yard, smell of sewage in the kitchen, no Wi-Fi for 24 hours. Without any attention or desire to improve.

The worst of the worst - Do not go there!!!
It is a complete scam. The pictures and description does not correspond at all with the reality. The very best example of when you buy it and when it arrives…
The room is directly on the street, the main door conects the bedroom and the street directly. Bathroom door? I do not think so, there is a simple old shower curtain and the sink is not even inside the “bathroom” is in the “common room”. And well, lets not talk about the decoration or the humidities and the smell… you do not feel safe, nor welcome and absolutely not comfortable.
But the worst part is feeling fooled by the owner/manager of this “accommodation”. We tried cancelling due to all of the above and not a chance… unbelievable.
Do not go there!! Would not recommend even to a rat or a cockroach.

Para começar a booking retirou duas vezes o pagamento da conta! Telefonamos ao senhor do apartamento para ver se podia ajudar a esclarecer a situação, não se mostrou prestável. Chegamos ao destino, abrimos a porta, assustador. Uma cabeceira de cama antiga a fazer de decoração logo á porta, a cama o que tinha de bom eram os lençóis lavados, porque a colcha tinha nódoas! A pia da casa de banho fica fora da casa de banho ao lado do fogão. Uma mesa de madeira velha com falhas de tinta e uma bacia la colocada. Em baixo dessa bacia onde está o tubo da água estavam duas ou três mantas encaixadas cheias de pó ao nosso dispor !!! No meio do apt (que é um t0), estava um pau do chão ao teto que ficava em frente á televisão, portanto da cama mal se via televisão, e também tinha a mesa improvisada de jantar altíssima que também dificultava a vista pra tv. Mesa essa já composta por individuais pratos talheres e copos que estariam colocados há não sei quantos dias! Esponja da loiça velha e usada ao nosso dispor. Não tem um único armário, prateleira, cabide, guarda fatos, zero. Nem papel higiénico extra. Um rolo quase acabado ao dispor. Portadas velhas e parede das janelas cheias de bolor. Frigorífico/congelador um tanto sujo por dentro. Lamento dizer que pelo preço que pagamos encontrávamos melhor nesta altura, no Algarve, e não falo da acomodação só, mas principalmente da LIMPEZA. Ah, e não tem alarme de fumo. Um candeeiro do tecto está partido e não dá luz. Pareceu me tudo muito á trouxa e mocha.
