This is an old beautiful hotel that is being upgraded but keeps the old world charm. The Staff are excellent, especially Mike at the front desk. The location is great with easy access to all in Sines. Beds were comfortable and the room was always well kept. You feel like you are staying with friends.

Disappointed to see the state of the place

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 15 years and posted a previous review about 7 years ago stating that of all the Hotels I had stayed over the world this had to ranked among the top 5.
I recently visited and to e honest I wish I had not, I wish I had held on to the good memories of the place.
During my previous stays the hotel was family run and was always very welcoming, even to the point if you arrived late the owner would keep the chef/cook in-house just incase you needed to eat, nothing was too much trouble and, there was always a welcoming Portuguese Cake and a miniature bottle of port in the room. Restaurant was always open serving great food and the breakfast was out of this world.
This time it was totally different, there was no bar or restaurant open in the evening and it was only breakfast served, the Hotel is now company owned and all the previous refinements offered have ceased to exist, you now have no access to the lovely seating areas where you could relax in the evening.
The external areas used to be lovingly looked after, now there is no one tending the grounds, the pool area looks terrible and dirty to say the least, see attached photographs - don't be fooled by the lush green grass displayed in the hotel photo.
I think I will finish here - and I will savour the past memories however, I will be choosing an alternative hotel during my next visit to Sines.

Hotel a little tired. Lift not working. Bread not delivered for breakfast. Staff very helpful.

Hotel is in disrepair and this once beautiful hotel is falling apart. The landscaping is overgrown and out door seating broken and unusable. The advertised elevator was out of service and luggage had to be carried to the second floor, staff did not offer to help. There was evidence of water damage in the hallways and the carpet ripped in frequently used areas. Not as advertised…

Staff was unwelcoming. Hotel in bad need of renovations. 1st room we were given was slept in. 2nd room had moldy ceilings. Room felt dirty and lacking in amenities. WiFi never worked for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was stingy. None of the staff we encountered ever smiled or made us feel welcome. I do not recommend this property.
