Thank you Rita!

We had an excellent stay at La Maison Verte. Rita welcomed us with remarkable kindness and benevolence. Always smiling, full of thoughtfulness, and available, she provides very good advice for discovering the region and making the stay even more pleasant.
The breakfast is generous and delicious. For meals, everything is provided: a kitchen is available if you wish to cook, Rita gladly prepares good little dishes when she has the time, or it is possible to order a meal from outside.
La Maison Verte is a quiet, warm, and charming place. Its location is ideal for setting off to discover the Piton de la Fournaise, a true jewel of Reunion Island. We recommend this address with our eyes closed and will return with great pleasure!

Big big crush

The Green House is a simple comfort. If you dream of a 5* pass your way.
It is an excellent starting point for the Piton de la Fournaise and Pas de Bellecombe routes.
Of the ten accommodations we stayed in on Reunion Island, it was probably the one that marked us the most. Obviously by the extreme kindness and simplicity of Rita, the mistress of the place.
In the southern winter, in the mountains, provide warm clothes. Paradoxically, the common room to all rooms and where meals are taken is very warm but cool despite the heated umbrellas.
Breakfasts are plentiful and Rita, just like for evening meals, tries to make you taste as many things as possible.
The evening meal is only 25€ (apéritif, starter, main course and dessert). It is a family and authentic cuisine.
A big crush for this atypical accommodation and for the work done by Rita to satisfy her customers.

One of the best cottages we stayed in. Very comfortable. The hostess was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. The meals were delicious.

A real nugget to discover! Ideally placed for hikes to the volcano, plain of Bellouve and the iron hole! Rita warmly welcomes you with a real kindness! Lack of comfort

If you value comfort, this place is to be avoided. Our overnight stay was a great disappointment. It is not a real building, but rather a terrace on which have been installed three sheds serving as rooms. Sound and thermal insulation are non-existent. Every outdoor noise is audible, and night temperatures are very low (between 0 and 10 degrees) without any heating in the rooms. Before bed, the guest provides hot tubs and inefficient electric heating. Despite two big duvets, you spend the night in the cold. In addition, there is no ventilation, making moisture omnipresent in the room: the floor is wet and bedding, including duvets and sheets, is wet. A hot shower turns the room into a steam room.
Regarding the bathroom, the towels are tiny and the shower mat is just a doormat. As for privacy, it is non-existent, with the toilet and bathroom separated by a simple curtain. Meals are taken on the terrace, so in the cold, and although gas heaters and plaids are available, they are inefficient. The only positive is the quality of the evening meal. We can also note the proximity of the Piton de la Fournaise.
Regular travelers, this is by far our worst experience. The photos are misleading and the Award is totally unjustified.
