An excellent highly recommended way to stay in the National Park

We stayed 5 days 4 nights in this excellent game lodge. Being in self-driving we arrived with a land cruiser taking with us two jerricans of fuel because in the park you can't refuel and without problems they agreed to stow the fuel in their warehouse. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink and given a great room with a balcony. The rooms are very spacious with complimentary water every day of your stay. Large and very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, dedicated wifi for each room and top-notch cleanliness. The very large car park has an access gate that is 24/7 manned with the rule that you cannot leave in the morning before 06:00 AM and returning in the evening after 06:00 PM (national park rule). Even so the first day we went with our car to the sunset boat cruise which ended at 0645 PM returning then without problem at 0700 PM to the lodge. Even if it was low season the first evening there was a good number of guests so we had a sumptuous dinner with excellent buffet food. After dinner we booked for the following day breakfast to take away to leave at 06:00, the time when breakfast begins and the gate opens. Although what they gave us in the bags was excellent, seeing the buffet prepared for breakfast made us decide to leave at 06:20 the following days and have breakfast at the lodge. The following evening, as there were only three guests, the dinner was à la carte, but still plentiful, with excellent quality food and a wide choice. On the third evening we had dinner by the pool where there was a local dance show while the clients, normally the tours stop here for one night, were numerous. On the last day we checked out in the morning, but since we were leaving the park at 4pm, they gave us a courtesy room to change and take a shower. A characteristic of this lodge is the courtesy and kindness of every person who works there, always smiling and available. Since we stayed 4 nights, they also prepared a little cake for us on the last evening to say goodbye and thank you. Although our comment concerns the low season when there are very few guests, we can say that for the room, the food, the cleanliness and the courtesy we had the best. We recommend it without any hesitation.

Great lodge in Akagera National Park. Excellent customer service. Had traditional Rwandan dancers for evening entertainment. It was an awesome experience. Highly recommend!

Friendly staff. Recent change in breakfast process makes it slower and more difficult for early morning safaris.
