great spot to relax and unwind

Situated among green hills, near the forest, this small hostel offers you the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful scenery, fresh air and the kindness of the hosts. The courtyard is large, perfect for children to run, play or sway in the wooden swings which are as delightful for the little ones as they are for grown ups who can just read, have coffee and enjoy the view.
Meals are served in the dining room and the dishes are cooked by the owners- it is not a restaurant-like place-where you are given a menu,the owners just cook two or three traditional dishes (which are their food for the day as well) and the tourist can choose from those, or, if there are larger groups who all want to have a certain something to eat, the hosts do cook whatever the majority chooses, on demand. The food is tasty and beverages can be ordered-anything from soda to beer and wine.
The rooms are clean and comfortable despite not being very spacious.
Guests can buy fresh milk, different types of cheese, smoked meat, mutton pastrami, home made jams and wine ( refreshing and fruity-had a bottle to go ourselves) as the family owns cows and sheep and they make the products).
This has been our second time at Edera hostel and we are planning on going there again sometime this autumn.
For the ones who want to go visiting places-they can trek on the hills/forests around or they can go to the city of Brasov ( 50min drive,at most), visit Bran castle (short driving distance) or go to Rasnov to visit Dinoland and the fortified castle .
All in all, our experience of the place has been a pleasant one and i consider it to be a suitable place for both goups of friends and families with children and seniors.
