Historic building. Beautiful bedroom with balcony. Great breakfast. They allowed us to leave bags while we explored Sighisoara.

Awful Attitude From Mean Manager
February, 2026: It is difficult to believe that the Casa Wagner in Brasov and Casa Wagner in Sighisoara, are owned by the same individual. While both are lovely, quaint, cozy, historic, interesting, and comfortable, the managers, hence my experiences with each, were polar-opposite.
Because of its wonderful staff, the Brasov location is now my, my family's, and my friends' ever-after accommodation during any return trip to the area.
Conversely, I would sooner sleep in a cardboard box on Sighisoara's fabled cobbled streets before spending another night under the same roof with that city's Casa Wagner's manager, Adrian.
I won't, of course, tonight is paid, and it's 30 degrees, but to my point, here is a partial list of his loutish treatment of me: Upon arriving, although I was the only person standing at the front desk, if not in the hotel, he, two feet in front of me, just stood, facing me, fiddling with something for nearly five minutes. Finally, he lifted his head and said, “Name”? I gave it. He handed me a key, “Second floor”. I asked, “What time does the restaurant open?” He said, “It doesn’t.” Well, the web site listed it, and was a reason I booked the place. So, I asked, “Is there another place nearby?” He shrugged and waved toward the door. “Along the street”.
Monosyllabic. Never a smile. Never an offer to assist.
Blessedly, I am a healthy, strong female at 85, so up the steep stairs I went, carrying my luggage, to refreshen and then go look for a place to eat.
Checking my room, I do not see any bottles of water that usually await a traveler. When I go back downstairs to find a supper place, he’s nowhere to be seen. I knock on the desk. He finally appears. “Hi,” says I, “Do you have water for guests or bottles that I can purchase?”
He said, “No, we don’t provide water.” I ask, “Well, is a place I can I find some?”
Without missing a beat, he looks at me with dead eyes, and tells me, “The faucet.”
Now, I could give myriad other examples, but you get the drift. Later, I was told he has a reputation for meanness and rudeness, unless he judges a guest walking in to be wealthy and preferably young.
Incredibly, I was told that he’d been there at least 15 years. Well, I won’t be returning there as a guest. Never. Ever. Other than this man, I found Sighisoara to be lovely, friendly, interesting, and fun. Five stars for village. Zero for manager of Casa Wagner’s Sighisoara location. — Dee Rivers Yowell

Lovely old, and beautifully decorated hotel with great views and wonderful position on the main square.

Stayed here solo for one night. It's situated right in the main Square in the Citadel, perfect for exploring everywhere on foot. The room was fantastic; it had a real medieval feel to it. All for a very reasonable price as well.

Incredible location and absolutely beautiful hotel and room. Breakfast was also plentiful and very good. I’m hope to come back to the area someday and will definitely stay at this property again. My mother, 11 year old daughter and I traveled for 11 days in Romania and this was by far our favorite hotel. Highly recommend.
