Terrible. Fraudsters.

This is not the first time we travel together in cities of Russia by car and for practical reasons we try to book “in the driveway” in places where there is own parking. We decided not to change tradition this time. Volgograd came for the first time with hope and aspirations, a city with a difficult history, seemed imbued with a spirit of patriotism. 24 hours before arrival booked a room for two (which one?!). After traveling about 2,000 km since the last night, at 10 p.m. they reached the reception, where we were immediately informed that on a foreign passport they would not put me in a room for two. I don't know if this is a bias against travelers, or we didn't recognize a hint of extra payment for difficulties in processing this type of documents (in this case, enter a separate rate in the list of services). On the hotel’s official website in the conditions of occupancy no such features of the policy appeared anywhere, but orally the receptionist cited this particular circumstance as a justification for the refusal. Providing an electronic copy of the internal passport in addition to the document already presented, which under federal law proves my identity (no one has abolished the validity of this document) did not cripple the administrator's decision. And so, in view of our categorical refusal to move in with me, the two of us ended up literally on the street at night. A warm welcome, isn't it?! However, the hotel representatives refused to make a reservation and did not intend to, there was no force to quarrel after a long drive, decided to bring the circumstances of the situation to the support service of Yandex Travel (on their platform made a reservation). Found another accommodation and safely departed. And here is another surprise, the amount of the reservation 26tr was debited completely and the Yandex customer service in the home country (no difficulty communicating with the hotel's foreign-speaking representatives) was absolutely useless and moreover the text of the reply gave the impression that they are not a customer service but a brotherhood of humility, they are sorry, but they did not take anything or even get into the substance of the situation. What fine and its reduction were involved remained unclear. Advice, do not spoil your impression when visiting the city, do not use the services of fraudsters who take it upon themselves to advertise services provided on “special” terms not officially prescribed anywhere.

Отель «Волгоград» работает согласно законодательству Российской Федерации, руководствуясь Постановлением Правительства РФ от 18.11.2020 г. Nº 1853 (В редакции постановлений Правительства Российской Федерации от 01.04.2021 Nº 519, от 20.03.2024 Nº 341) Об утверждении Правил предоставления гостиничных услуг в Российской Федерации. В разделе 4 п.18 Порядок и условия предоставления гостиничных услуг указаны документы, по которым происходит заселение гостя.
На нашем официальном сайте в разделе "Правовая информация" Вы можете найти Правила проживания в отеле Волгоград. В п.3.2.указан перечень необходимых документов для заселения.
Кроме того, мы связались с нашим партнером Яндекс Путешествия, через кого было произведено бронирование. Они подтвердили что в подтверждение бронирования всегда указывается наличие паспорта гражданина РФ как обязательное условие для заселения в любой отель РФ.

I liked it! Hotel recommended!

The hotel really liked it! The staff is polite, sympathetic! The room is very nice! The room has everything you need. The fridge is really small. The view from the window is great! Breakfasts are excellent - a large and varied selection of dishes for every taste! I had a good breakfast this morning and I can't eat until dinner. The only downside is no free parking near the hotel!

Historic Hotel in the Historic City

Everything's fine. Historic building, comfortable rooms, responsive staff. There's also a very nice restaurant downstairs with wonderful staff ready to help. The only thing I would look at and if possible record the problem is the lack of light insulation. There are curtains, but when the sun starts to shine, you wake up immediately.
