People who make all the difference
I have travelled all over the world, and I can honestly say that my stay at Blue Diamond Hotel in Jeddah has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
I came all the way from New Zealand to attend a concert, and from the moment I arrived, I was treated like family. Booking was incredibly easy, and when I wanted to change rooms, the process was absolutely seamless. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
The service at this hotel is beyond outstanding. I've stayed in beautiful hotels across the world, but very few places have made me feel so genuinely at home. The warmth, kindness, and professionalism of the staff are second to none.
The food was absolutely delicious—every meal was a treat and exceeded my expectations.
However, the highlight of my stay was Aseel. What started as me asking for help with a personal issue on a music app so I could listen to my favourite artist's new album became one of the most heartwarming experiences of my trip. Aseel showed genuine care and interest in helping me. He patiently sat with me, explored different solutions, and was just as invested in making it work as I was.
In an age where good customer service can sometimes feel transactional, Aseel reminded me what true hospitality looks like. He went above and beyond for something that wasn't even part of his job description simply because he cared. By the end of it, my heart was full of happiness and gratitude. He played a huge part in making my holiday so special and worthwhile.
I owe so much of the joy I experienced in Jeddah to his kindness. People may remember the places they visit, but it's the people they meet who leave a lasting impression. Aseel is one of those people.
I arrived in Jeddah as a tourist from New Zealand, but I am leaving feeling like I have a second home here. I will most definitely leave a part of my heart in Jeddah.

Not first choice to be made
Poorly located in a construction zone, the Blue Diamond is not really close to anything, and speciallt one of the city centers. The reception staff is not interested in customers, neither are you being offered a glass of water/coffee,... upon arrival. Not very helpful in general. The restaurant staff, on the other hand, are efficient, fast and attentive to meeting demands. Varied buffet breakfast, changing from day to day. Eggs on request. Fresh fruit is scarce. The rooms are spacious. There is a convenience store 5 minutes away and a large supermarket over 15 minutes away on foot.

Friendly staff. Good food. Even If Ramadan period, they are glas to help tourists. You can order room service 24/7. Closet to the beach and a couple of local stores. No point of interest in the area, but reception can suggest Nice places to go.

Reservation for 3 nights confirmed and guaranteed through Booking. Even prior exchange of messages re expected time of arrival. Checking in and ...reservation has been cancelled !! We are sorry. The Hotel's full now. I sent them and email and a msg the next morning. Never Heard back. Watch out

from very good to pretty bad
Location in Jeddah's Al Hamra quarter is quite convenient. I could go for walks to the nearby Corniche, to several restaurants, even to the Flagpole. The room had a good size, although the King Room consisted of two single beds, pushed together with one pair of sheets on top. There is plenty of storage space with several drawers, also in the bathroom. Everything was fine, except for the awful view through a mosquito screen to a nearby wall. And this from the third floor. Although every day, when I left early morning, I did put up the sign to have the room cleaned up, this always happened only, when I came back, shortly before sunset.
Breakfast goes from 6.30 till 10.30 and there was an impressive choice of cold and warm dishes from the buffet. The hotel also has a Health Club on the ground floor, looked after by a young and shy Filipino. In the mornings (8am till 1pm) it is for ladies, while in the afternoon and evenings (2pm till 11pm) it is for men. At first being alone I enjoyed the pool with the cool water, the jacuzzi, the steam bath and the sauna. Later a local man arrived with his four young sons. First they were running around the place with their shoes on, making a lot of noise. Then they undressed down to their underpants, jumping into the pool and the jacuzzi without even taking a shower first. For me it was time to leave.
