Exceptional Day Visit – Impeccable Service and Beautiful Facilities!
I visited Sofitel Riyadh today as a non-staying guest to use their swimming pool facilities and enjoy a late breakfast and lunch at La Matinée Lobby Lounge. It was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish.
La Matinée Lobby Lounge:
The ambiance here is lovely, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. For my late breakfast and lunch, I enjoyed a beautifully prepared smash burger with parmesan-dusted fries and a delicious, perfectly melted Croque Madam served with fresh salad and golden fries. Every dish was fresh and flavorful.
A massive thank you to the lounge team—Smitha, Fazeel, Lurin, Anglo, Abuzaid, and Parwez. They were incredibly attentive, professional, and provided stellar service throughout my time there.
The Pool & Spa Facilities:
The indoor swimming pool area is stunning, serene, and immaculately clean. What truly made the day unforgettable, however, was the hospitality at the spa. Mon and Dhilna (the lady lifeguard) went completely above and beyond. They surprised me by setting up a beautiful tray with fresh welcome fruit, a plush robe, and a lovely personalized welcome note addressed to me. It was such a thoughtful, high-end touch that made me feel incredibly special.
Even without staying overnight, the team at Sofitel Riyadh treated me like a VIP. I highly recommend visiting their lounge and pool, and I will definitely be back!

Exceptional Lobby Staff & The Outstanding Service of the Egyptian doorman and " Lurin "at the Cafe
I visited Sofitel during the Riyadh International Disputes Week ( RIDW). I loved the hospitality of the lobby staff, politeness and professionalism where the main impression i got. The doorman ( Seems Egyptian, but i didn't get his name, he was very polit and helpful.
" Lurin" at the lobby cafe, was incredibly energetic, proactive, and remarkable.

The atmosphere and food was amazing. It’s a great place with clean rooms. The staff are kind, helpful, and professional, especially the receptionist, Mr. Fahad Altaweel, who made my stay smooth and was extremely helpful.

Someone entered my room while i was sleeping, TWICE!
I am a Diamond member of the ALL – Accor program and a frequent business traveler managing companies across Cairo, Riyadh, and Dubai. Because of my regular travel schedule, I stay with Accor properties very often and have consistently valued the quality, professionalism, and reliability of their hotels worldwide.
Sofitel has always been my preferred brand, as I trust the consistency of its service standards across all locations. Unfortunately, my most recent stay at Sofitel Riyadh Hotel & Convention Center did not reflect these standards.
I made my reservation through the ALL app and later contacted the reservations team to modify the booking and request a smoking room preference, which I was assured would be noted. Upon arrival, I was informed during check-in that the hotel does not offer smoking rooms. Additionally, I was told that I could not redeem my reward points at the desk and should have done so during booking. Although I understood this did not seem correct, I was too tired to escalate the matter and paid the full stay by credit card. I was also informed that the Club Millésime lounge was not yet operational.
However, the most concerning issue occurred on the morning of January 28th at approximately 6:00 am. I was awakened by the sound of my room door being opened and two men speaking before the door was quickly closed. About 30 minutes later, the door was opened again without explanation. When I checked outside, I found two technicians wearing high-visibility vests. They appeared to have mistakenly accessed my room.
I immediately contacted reception and was later told they had the wrong room number. While I understand mistakes can happen, allowing technicians to carry master keys and open occupied guest rooms presents a serious security and privacy concern. This incident was particularly unsettling and unacceptable from a guest safety perspective.
Finally, the evening before my early departure, I politely inquired at the front desk whether a breakfast box could be arranged due to my 6:00 am checkout. I fully understand that this service may or may not be available; however, the manner in which my request was declined felt dismissive and unprofessional.
Upon concluding my stay at Sofitel Riyadh, I initiated contact with Accor customer service to express my concerns. I was astounded by the lack of responsiveness from Accor customer service. The response I received indicated that my email would be forwarded to the hotel, and the hotel would contact me (which did not transpire).
The experiences I encountered during my stay at Sofitel Riyadh are unacceptable and should not be prevalent in any hotel establishment. These incidents contradict the fundamental principles of hospitality.
What was more perplexing than the incidents was the tolerance and acceptance displayed by both the hotel management (Sofitel) and the holding company (Accor) in the face of such errors.
