Nice standard hotel with great staff
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at Terrou-Bi and would recommend it, especially for anyone looking for a resort-style experience in Dakar.
The biggest standout was the staff. Everyone we encountered throughout the hotel was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. We did have a few communication issues leading up to our arrival, as it took some time to get responses to our questions, but everything was resolved just before we arrived.
We also booked our excursions through the hotel, and our guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable, professional, and made for a fantastic experience. My only suggestion would be regarding the pricing of the excursions. It felt like there was a significant markup through the hotel, and I hope more of that cost finds its way to the local guides who do such an outstanding job.
The grounds are beautiful. The pool is absolutely massive and was one of our favorite places to spend the afternoon. Being able to order lunch poolside made it even better. The hotel also has a great bar with a fun atmosphere, and our oceanfront balcony was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view.
The rooms themselves were comfortable but fairly basic for a five-star property. They felt a bit dated and could benefit from some updating, though they were clean and well maintained.
One thing we really appreciated was the service on our departure day. We had already checked out but had a late-night flight, and the hotel graciously allowed us to use a room later in the day to shower and change before heading to the airport. That small gesture made a huge difference after a long day and was a wonderful example of their hospitality.
Overall, Terrou-Bi offers a beautiful setting, excellent service, and great amenities. While there are a few areas that could be improved, particularly the guest rooms and the pricing structure of excursions, we left with a very positive impression and would happily stay here again.

Dakar’s finest
Luxury experience - friendly staff (Aziz and Aziz were our favorites plus Alioune at breakfast who remembered our name.) and a beautiful property. Pool was spacious with great views, and the food was excellent. Exclusively bar playing local music on vinyl was great too!

Beautiful seaside stay
Beautiful hotel! Excellent location by the water, walkable along the coast. Best hotel gym ever with a view of the ocean. The beach was nice for swimming, as was the pool. I stayed for work and we used the conference space which was really nice. Overall great experience.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay at Terrou-Bi. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was professional, warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive to our family.
Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and spacious, and the view was absolutely incredible. The entire property was lovely, but what truly stood out to us was the level of service. It was impeccable from beginning to end.
Traveling with children can sometimes make vacations a little more challenging, but the staff at Terrou-Bi made our experience so easy and enjoyable. They were incredibly friendly and patient with our kids, and what impressed us most was how personal the service felt. The staff's welcome was truly excellent, no issues there. But be careful not to expect the level of a true 5-star hotel like those found in Monaco, Spain, or internationally in general... here, the “5-star” is mostly in the name, not in the content.
Access to the beach is particularly expensive: 50€ and change (35,000 FCFA) per person, and that only includes a lounge chair for a few hours without a drink, without a snack, without a towel. For that price, one has the right to expect more. The surrounding environment also leaves something to be desired, not up to the displayed standard. Take this into account before booking if you are looking for a true international standard.
