Clean and comfy
Very clean with comfy beds. Can get 2 kings or 2 queens. Not a lot of places have kings. All rooms have fridge and micro and 2 sinks. Built in the 60s, this motel has large rooms and cinder block walls making it very quiet

Old school quiet motel - detailed review
This is a time capsule of a simple old school motel. It's a single story cinder block building with huge double king rooms, a decent-ish free breakfast (but no eggs or meat), lots of parking, and friendly reception. It was likely built in the 1950s and hasn't really been updated since beyond carpet and furniture. Our room looked to have the original toilet, tub, sink, etc. but it was all in decent condition.
Because it's single story, and the rooms are concrete on all 4 sides, it's very quiet. The rooms don't face the road. The rooms also have both a door to the outside parking area and a "back door" that opens to an interior hallway leading to the breakfast area. There's a desk, office chair, comfy chair, and decent mattresses that seemed to be relatively new. There are nice enough towels, toiletries, etc.
It's not walk-able to much but there's some sort of restaurant/bar next door, and a Walmart with some fast food a short drive away. It's close to the highway. The free breakfast includes packaged yogurt, muffins, waffles, pancakes, cereal, fruit cups, orange juice, jamb, coffee, granola bars, a toaster, etc. (see the pics).
Evanston is not exactly a destination and there's little reason to visit unless you have a good reason. For us it was just close to the halfway point on a drive to Denver. The area does have nice freeways. There's Bear River State Park which is worth a visit if you want somewhere to walk your dog or get some exercise with some relatively short trails and walking paths (some paved).

Love it
We stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. We really appreciated the option for late check-in, which made our arrival much easier.
We had a small issue with the TV in the middle of the night, but we called the manager and he came up right away to help us. The service was excellent and we appreciated how helpful and friendly he was.
We also loved the thoughtful touches, like the welcome letter with our name on the envelope—it made us feel very special and welcomed. The drinks left in the room were another nice surprise.
The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again!

THE WORST hotel experience we've ever had.
This was by far THE WORST hotel experience we've ever had.
We were on a road trip and had been staying at different hotels every night. We didn't arrive at the hotel until around 1:00 AM, completely exhausted. We didn't expect a late checkout or any special treatment. However, several other hotels during our trip had kindly offered us a late checkout without us even asking. We weren't expecting that here—we simply expected basic courtesy and respect.
Before 9:00 AM, while we were still asleep, hotel staff knocked on the door and then unlocked and opened it. They realized we were inside, closed the door, and left. A short time later, they came back, knocked again, and started opening the door once more. This time I opened it myself and politely explained that this was the second time someone had entered our room while we were still inside. Instead of apologizing or showing any concern, the manager, who was standing right beside the employee, responded aggressively and simply said, "They're doing their job."
It didn't stop there.
At 10:55 AM, the manager knocked on our door to remind us that checkout was at 11:00 AM. I told him we were almost ready. We had reserved two rooms for our family. I left my room at 11:03 AM and went next door to help my children carry their luggage.
At 11:08 AM—just eight minutes after checkout—the manager came to my children's room and, in an incredibly rude and intimidating manner, told them they would be charged a late fee and that he would call the police within five minutes if they weren't out. My daughter came to the car visibly shaken because of the way she had been spoken to.
When my husband returned the room keys, he calmly asked the manager if he had really said that to our daughter. Without hesitation, he replied, "Yes," then demanded the keys and said, "Get out of my lobby."
What made this experience so unacceptable wasn't the checkout policy—it was the manager's behavior. We were actively checking out, carrying our luggage to the car, and were only a few minutes past the posted checkout time. There was absolutely no reason to threaten a family with police or speak to paying guests with such hostility and disrespect.
We have stayed in countless hotels over the years and have never experienced anything remotely like this. There was no courtesy, no professionalism, no empathy, and no basic respect.
We will never stay here again and strongly recommend that anyone looking for a welcoming and respectful place to stay choose another hotel.

Outstanding
Charming,delightful, surprising. The rooms are so lovely. We like the two door entrance and exit. The room was very clean and we like the bathroom set up. We highly recommend this lovely inn. Nice breakfast set. Landry facility looks so nice. Finally very homey and comfortable. We will be making this a stop every time on our cross country trip. Thanks to the owner for doing such a good job on making this hidden gem a great place to stay.
