10 Stars! Highly Recommend

We absolutely loved our stay at Holualoa Inn. It was easily one of the most special places we have ever stayed.
The property itself is stunning — peaceful, lush, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. It has that rare feeling of being both luxurious and deeply personal. Nothing felt sterile or overly corporate. It felt warm, thoughtful, and truly connected to the place.
The inn has a lovely hosted feel, almost like being welcomed into someone’s beautiful home, but with all the comfort and care you would expect from a high-end stay. We loved the shoes-off atmosphere, the relaxed common spaces, the help-yourself kitchen, and the sense that we could fully settle in and breathe. The coffee farm setting made it feel even more magical.
The staff were kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming without being intrusive. Everything felt easy and peaceful, which was exactly what we wanted. It was the perfect place to begin our anniversary trip, and my husband said it was his favorite place we have ever stayed. I honestly might agree.
We would return in a heartbeat. Holualoa Inn is a very special place.

The Holualoa Inn is amazing - highest recommendations.

My husband and I oved every minute of our 4-day stay at the Holualoa Inn, located on a coffee plantation - first time we've ever seen coffee growing! All of the staff are warm and friendly including Paula and Rhonda. We loved not wearing our shoes on their beautiful floors. The location was perfect for us, we had a rental car, and traveled to various places on the Big Island. We were in the Orchid Room which was perfect for us; we might have chosen a little bigger room but only the Orchid Room was available - in the end, we would choose it again! The attention to detail in our room and in the entire place was amazing. The chef/staff left out homemade goodies each night in the dining room. The breakfast that is part of the cost was simply stunningly beautiful and delicious; we lucked out and enjoyed their Punalu'u French Toast with Lilikoi Cream Cheese on our last day. Someone really thought out every detail down to the tall standing oscillating fan and the folding metal towel rack that we used nightly after our dip in the hot tub (we had it to ourselves every time) and to hang clothes I'd washed. Some reviews here complained about the sound of the coqui frogs - I first thought they were birds. Though we understand they are invasive, the sounds, though quite loud, didn't bother us one bit, in fact we enjoyed it (we do live in the woods and are used to night time sounds). We enjoyed wandering the grounds as well as shopping at the very nearby shops. There is a common room with games and a kitchen area with sink/dishes/fridge/freezer that we utilized especially for leftovers from when we went into town in Kailua-Kona (each room has a labeled space in the fridge). We enjoyed playing a game of Rummikub. Some reviewers were frustrated about the tipping situation; having taken that information in, we were a little confused, but we figured it out easily enough and just hoped we were generous, as it was well deserved. We were there during overcast and rainy weather - the weather didn't change a thing for us - we would return in a heartbeat and loved every single minute of our stay there and imagine taking family there sometime! We give Holualoa Inn and their staff our highest recommendations.

Wonderful place!

A wonderful place and 100% recommended!
Great location at about 450 m altitude with views over the sea and sunset side.
Perfectly maintained grounds, wonderful garden and pool area. A peaceful and harmonious place to relax and unwind and just “be”
Room and house are very well maintained and furnished to a high standard. Rooms are spacious and functional. Breakfast is super delicious and unfortunately not plentiful. For this there are fresh pastries in the afternoon and iced teas etc.
The service is great and everyone in the house super friendly and helpful.
On our Hawaii Islandhopping trip the best accommodation by far!

Oasis of calm

This hidden gem is the perfect place for winding down and enjoying the peaceful setting on a coffee plantation. Exceptional service and outstanding food. Our quiet and very clean cottage had a stunning view.

Paradise high above Kailua

Cottage was spacious and comfortable with spectacular views. Breakfasts were outstanding. Exceeded expectations in every aspect.

So much mahalo for this beautiful review and for choosing Holualoa Inn and our Darrell Hill Cottage for such a special occasion! Guests in our Cottage have full access to the Inn and amenities, including our delicious farm-to-table breakfasts and afternoon sweets, our pool, hot tub, Sculpture Garden and even guest laundry! But when they return home to their Cottage, they enjoy complete privacy. Our Cottage is also equipped with a full kitchen, propane BBQ and wrap-around lanais overlooking the Kona coast and our gardens.
