Horror in Room 257
Our recent stay at Studio 6 Tempe Motel 6 was deeply disappointing and fell far below reasonable standards for safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
We reserved a double-bed room because we were traveling as a family of two adults and a four-year-old child and required adequate sleeping arrangements. Upon arrival, we were informed that the hotel had oversold its rooms and our reservation had effectively been canceled. Late in the evening, staff located an alternative room, but it contained only a single full bed, which was not appropriate for our family.
The condition of the room was unacceptable. There was a strong smoke odor that caused headaches for both my daughter and me, despite prominent no-smoking signage throughout the property and on the room door. The room was advertised as including a kitchenette, yet there were no plates, cookware, or utensils provided.
Cleanliness was a serious concern. The floor was visibly dirty; after walking barefoot for only a few minutes, my daughter’s feet were black. Wiping a small section of the floor with a white towel immediately turned the towel dark with dirt. Additionally, my daughter opened a dresser drawer and discovered a large hammer inside, which presented a safety concern. The bathtub was dirty and damaged, the chair cushions were torn, the in-room phone was nonfunctional, and the window curtain was improperly secured with tack pins and would not open.
We spoke with three separate employees seeking resolution. Each assured us the issue would be addressed and that a proper double-bed room would be arranged, yet responsibility was repeatedly passed along without follow-through. Donna advised that the manager, Renee, would handle the matter. Renee stated she would contact us but never did, and subsequent follow-up yielded no resolution.
Ultimately, we were forced to secure accommodations elsewhere, resulting in lost time, additional expense, and significant stress while traveling with a young child. The condition of the assigned room was so poor that it appeared unfit for guest occupancy. We have photographic documentation supporting these concerns.
We are requesting a full refund and meaningful accountability from management. This experience was extremely upsetting and did not meet basic expectations for guest safety or service.

The price is very reasonable especially if you are on a tight budget. Bed is comfortable. Frig is full size. No pots or pans, dishes or utensils. Location is good. Pet friendly. In 3 days, I did see 2 small roaches, however it is that time of year. This is an older establishment so I can’t say that’s not to be somewhat expected. Nice pool. TV works good, lots of channel options. Wifi is slow, however they do have faster options you can pay for, I choose not to.

I stay here quite frequently, when I am in town. The rooms are clean, staff is usually helpful, and I have no major issues. I did notice leaking from one of the faucets in the bathroom, and I mentioned it to the staff, so hopefully they will address this and get it taken care of. The wi-fi kept going down, so hopefully this is a temporary thing. Overall, I am happy staying here, as it fits all my needs. Thank you!

Bed had a huge dip in it and was squeaky with hard pillows, toilet seat was missing a screw, lamp shades were gross and needed to be changed, bathroom door was rotten at the bottom, bathroom walls & shower severely stained. Lots of police activity here. Waited over 20 mins to check in bc front desk was closed. If you really need a place to sleep for a night that’s convenient to a lot of food places & the mall otherwise spend your money elsewhere
