Methow River Lodge and Cabins is a new top favorite of hotels I have been to. The room was very spacious and clean, you have a great view next to the river, and the price was not absurdly expensive. Methow River Lodge and cabins has my money whenever I go back to Winthrop.

A beautiful location—every room has a view of the lovely Methow River! We loved being able to walk downtown for shopping and food on a nice trail—we never had to drive anywhere!!
We also loved the lodge-themed furniture—perfect for the setting. Our room was clean except for the floor which made our feet black so we washed it as best we could with a washcloth, told the front desk person about it but it was never washed. That and the mediocre breakfast are why we give 4 stars instead of 5.

My wife and I were there overnight. We checked out late and really did not see any staff members. However, I called ahead to see what I should do since we were arriving late, and that staff member gave us very nice and complete instructions on the phone. We thought the hotel room was over the top and we had a wonderful time although we were only there for about 11 hours.

No sensitivity to customer needs.

We booked a reservation knowing that cancellation had to be made 14 days before arriving. However, 9 days before arriving we found out that there were wildfires near Winthrop and air quality was hazardous. We decided to cancel our entire trip from Midwest. We were able to cancel reservations in all hotels of the trip except Methow River Lodge & Cabins. We contacted the hotel 9 days before arriving. The hotel was stuck to the formal rule without taking in consideration wildfires and poor air quality. We are very disappointed and although we are still planning to come to North Cascades next year, we will exclude this hotel from consideration.

Everything was good, cabin was very cute, location is great. Sofa-bed was very old and not comfortable, springs were protruding and hurting.
