A Pearl in Eastern Slovakia

The area is really nice - the hotel and restaurant are right on the small lake. Swallows hiss back and forth in the air, hunting for a treat. From time to time, mallards flutter scared away and a Milan skilfully circles around high up in the blue sky taking advantage of the air pressure - all observable from the spacious terrace. We enjoyed dinner in threes - delicious Hungarian fish soup as an appetizer, tartar, hamburger, pirohy (a kind of Slovak stuffed pastry) and fish as a main course , it was delicious and the white wine also fit.

Nice room ,Terrible staff

We booked last minute and got a reasonable price. The room was acceptable although the window was too high to see out. The aircon was stuck and was either on full cold or off. So we sweated for four nights. Towels were changed each day but bed sheets were not changed from Thursday until we left on Monday....4 nights!!! .
As previously mentioned, the staff are rude and don't care what problem you may have, if it entails them having to actually go out of their way, they won't bother. We were charged two different prices for the same bottle of wine.
The place itself is great but the rude and unhelpful staff put a dampner on our stay.

Not worth the stress

If you are not a fan off insufficient and rude service then don’t bother. Be ready to be told that your opinion doesn’t matter and they don’t need your money if you raise an issue. Staff is often untrained which is fine, however, management lacks any capability to resolve even simple issues. If you are used to Western services you at times you will probably feel bullied or straight out intimidated.

Terrible service

Nice place but TERRIBLE TERRIBLE service!!!! Noway to come back! No is answer for everything, service at reception, outdoor pool, bufet, restaurant….I have visited several times, but still no progress.
