Good location, very friendly MA (partly. English), good breakfast, winding rooms
Very nice little hotel with perfect downtown location.
Rooms are all individual and therefore sizes are uncertain. I had a very large bathroom and a very small room (with double bed).
Breakfast is very individual and the food is fresh and good quality. The breakfast room/restaurant has no natural light.
Fitness center is available (contrary to what was stated at the time in the profile of the house not).
The windows facing the pedestrian alley are large and beautiful - and also loud; even if only a few people are talking downstairs, you can hear every word, thankfully I don't understand it ;-)
From the airport the taxi cost about 45 EUR. By S-Bahn you are well connected to Madrid-City (without changing trains), about 45 min. Travel time to the center. The S-Bahn station is about 7 minutes from the hotel.

Seriously. But I hope that the comments can provide inspiration for improvement.
We are not.
Let's start with the practically non-existent welcome.
We arrived in the evening and they were preparing the restaurant so they were busy.
They quickly gave us the key and adios.
The room of a few square meters seemed to have been created from a space used for something completely different.
Small with very little space for movement, compared to a bathroom that is far too large. Therefore, poorly optimized spaces.
In the bathroom there is a bidet but no plug to use it. Only two towels are given, one large and one for the hands. For the bidet, no.
Non-existent wardrobe, zero living space for movement.
Good bed, good mattress and pillows.
The noise... constant, always.
Not only of the passage of people, but above all the noise coming from the restaurant room below until late at night.
Very low profile breakfast. We can say essential. But you can adapt to that.
Let's say we found ourselves in a hostel, while we expected to go to a 3-star hotel - both for the prices and for the online search.
Such an accommodation does not cost 110-odd euros per night (what we paid), but a maximum of 60.00.
The only positive thing: the location.

A warm and friendly welcome with delightful food served.
Stayed at the Hostal restaurante Miguel de Cervantes as part of a business trip. We arrrived about 9.30 pm direct from the airport. We dumped our bags and went straight down to the restaurante area. We elected to eat outside the hotel on a quite side street. The three of us ordered from the set menu costing €25 this included starters, main, desert and coffee. We all ordered something different and it was all very nice there was no complaints from us at all. For starters I had a black pudding and chorizo stew which was very hearty. This was followed by monkfish served with clams in shells which again was very tasty. We all then decided to have a almond pastry slice for desert which really was light and delicious followed coffee. We ordered a bottle of local red wine to accompany our meal which equally was very good. The waiting staff were very helpful and patient with our badly spoken Spanish. A very nice authentic place to stay and to visit. Highly recommend.

Lovely little hotel
The hotel was absolutely charming. The staff was so friendly and helpfull. Perfect location in historical old part of Alcala. Very short walk to every place. The main street Calle de Mayor is very near and there are lots of lovely bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.

3 Night Visit
Situated in the old part of Alcala just off the historic Calle Mayor with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. Great location with easy access to bus stops to get to Madrid. Hotel is very well run by lovely staff and has a fairly formal and very nice restaurant. Room we had was small with a step up to bathroom and three steps to main bedroom area. Quiet location, apart from convent bell ringing at about 8am. Lots of character within hotel and surrounding area. Restaurant Nino nearby is a must but you will need a Spanish phrase book as there is no English menu, a sure sign of proper Spanish food!
