Lovely hotel, but...

Lovely hotel, a haven of peace. They offer well-prepared lunches and dinners. The spa is very useful.
But... it is very far from the town. In our case, we were traveling the Camino de Santiago, and the location is really impractical.

Stop very expensive

Beautiful Pension with only 6 rooms below, modern with a small terrace but facing north.
Very nice garden.
Spa with jacuzzi and sauna very nice.
Dinner too expensive, too fat and too salty, the Pension being 1.5 km from the city center we had the woman to go there ... mistake.
Breakfast too expensive and low heartiness that starts late for walkers....
Very competent staff but just kind, pity.

The more you pay, the less you receive.

My wife and I paid $180 (AUD) more to “upgrade” our Arzua stay while hiking The Camino.
We were scammed big time.
The Hotel is a further 2 km walk out of town with no access to bars or restaurants.
We walked all the way out there, rang the security buzzer for no response. We had to sit outside the security gate until reception arrived at 2pm. We arrived at 12.40pm and reception opens at 2pm. No communication regarding this.
We were offered a drink, only beer or wine mind you as an apology. Very gracious given we had beer and wine included in our package!!
Dinner was quite good, but breakfast - coffee and a piece of toast. Anything further, including an apple or banana is at a further cost!
Breakfast only commenced at 8 am and our luggage collection turned up at 8.15 am.
Poorest breakfast of our trip in the most expensive accommodation of our trip.
And the staff member was low on empathy and engagement.
Stay in town, you will have a better experience.

Stark and soulless with a dirty spa pool

I stayed at Hotel a Curuxa Wellness for a night while walking the Camino Frances. I took a taxi there as it’s a bit off the Camino. It appears to be very cheaply built with thin walls in the stark white cheaply furnished cubes. The pool is very small and the whole place feels soulless. I went to the restaurant but had to leave as two men were smoking outside on the deck and as the doors were open the cigarette smoke was blowing in. I asked why smoking was permitted at a ‘wellness’ hotel and the receptionist told me the the spa made it a wellness hotel. I had a massage which was ok. The spa pool was disgusting. It was really dirty with black scum on the sides. There is nothing wellness about this place!

A Rest & Reflective Day, whilst on route walking El Camino

Totally modern, but so ever Peaceful and Serene. Feeling the love and passion behind this Hotel. It is pristine and uncluttered. So ever tastefully decorated and furnished, simple yet so stylish. Has everything i need to fulfil my objective of a Rest Day ; drink of tea or beverage. Run and managed by the owner and her 2 daughters. 20 mn. walk from the old town / church, and detour from El Camino path but can use a taxi €5 apparently. It has a pool, sauna, spa
