We were on the 8th floor so it was peaceful and the location is fantastic to get around Barcelona on foot.

Bad experience – absolutely not 4 star
I was extremely disappointed with this Ilunion hotel on Calle Laietana. Calling it a 4-star is really misleading.
The rooms, especially the bathroom, are old and neglected: broken tiles, floor full of obvious scratches and signs of wear, dated sanitary ware and in questionable condition. Furniture is also ruined, worn out and damaged, giving an overall impression of neglect and poor maintenance.
Even the presence of a single electrical outlet is unacceptable, absolutely insufficient by current standards.
The photos speak for themselves: cracks in the floor, obvious signs of deterioration and details that should not exist in a structure of this category.
The only slightly positive aspect is the location, but it is not enough to compensate for everything else.
Bad value for money. I would definitely not recommend it.

Slightly underwhelmed with the hotel. Would advise sing more on par with a low 3 star hotel not the 4 advertised. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cleaning was sufficient and frequent. Biggest disappointment was the standard of room. Very small narrow room, small tv with only one English Channel (Sky News). Bathroom not the greatest and low pressure hot water. Air con worked but often blew in cigarette smoke so had to keep turned off. Very noisy rooms with paper thin walls. Regularly woken up in the early hours to roudy drunken guests.
On the whole adequate if visiting the city and not planning on spending any time in the hotel other than sleeping. Great location wise but if like us you want a siesta or some down time in the room, this hotel is not really for you. To reiterate, staff really friendly and the highlight of the stay.

Location is perfect , it’s located close to an underground parking if you have a car it’s very convenient, it’s. 20-30 min walk to the pier and aquarium, were you can find Alot of restaurants . The only small negative side was that you can hear room doors opening And shutting and people talking in the hallways at all times probably due to the hallways being in ceramic and facilitating eco

Forget it
I have several things to report; the first is that the images presented on the cover on Booking are not truthful. A standard room is very different in reality. Fortunately, after reporting this and paying a supplement, we were accommodated with an upgrade.
Despite the upgrade, the room still has many things that should be fixed. Let's consider that we are talking about a 4-star hotel, so I expect a certain quality; otherwise, I would have chosen something else.
I report that:
-we had two separate beds
-the bidet still had the factory label attached (in addition to the dirt behind it, a sign of cleaning never done; just look at the attached photos)
-a weed growing on the terrace (out of pity, we removed it ourselves)
-the plaster coming down from the window
-the towel rack half detached
-the shower that did not drain well
-the door, which was not insulated anyway and did not even close well because there was a gap that let you see outside.
Maybe we are too picky, but the property charged us (considering we stayed for 1 week), and consequently, we expected a certain quality.
In conclusion, we asked for a late check-out at 4:00 PM the previous evening and were accommodated with a supplement. The following morning at 10:00 AM, the cleaning lady knocked on our door telling us that we had to leave the room, which left us a bit surprised because our original check-out was at 12:00 PM. So we preferred to ask for confirmation of the matter to be sure, and we were told that everything was okay. Spoiler: we returned to the room and the key no longer opened the door, so we had to go back down and waste time figuring out what the problem was; they simply had not notified each other at the reception.
The hotel looks very good in the images, and we were sorry to find a different situation. I believe there is a lack of someone in charge of maintenance because the rooms are very neglected, and for a 4-star hotel, this is not acceptable.
