Short city break

Excellent hotel, great location, pool lounge food excellent, very tasty and good vegetarian selection. Staff friendly and helpful and beach towels and paroles provided. Small no of sunloungers for size of hotel but we were lucky and always got 2 beds around 1030 hrs. We would retrurn.

Solid hotel with a nice lounging area by the pool. Rooms were very small even for a European hotel and the air conditioning wasn’t as strong as other Spanish hotels we’ve stayed at. The location is good, about 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station, and the beds are very comfortable.

Barcelona was absolutely great!

Stayed at this hotel for a friend's birthday. The hotel offered us a Deluxe Seaview Room on the 7th floor, but we declined the offer as the view wasn't that great and the bed, whilst queen sized, wasn't twin, so we decided to go with the twin room (we had already booked) on the 1st floor with a view of the communal garden for the nearby apartments. We didn't have a problem with that.
The surroundings were always clean. But there are toilets located near the lifts, so there were some times when there was a slight chemical smell.
If you stay on the 1st/2nd floors, you're better off using the stairs as the lifts were a little slow.
All the staff were really friendly and polite. Guests are provided cava during certain times of the afternoon. Great for when you've come back from the beach or sightseeing. Take a drink with you up to your room.
The breakfast room was a little small for the size of the hotel but the staff made sure everything ran smoothly. There was also additional seating outside which quite a few guests used.
Typical buffet breakfast, with a chef on hand to cook your eggs how you wished. There seemed to be a wide variety of cooked and cold meats, cereal, fresh fruit, fruit juice, pastries, fresh bread rolls, loaves, etc, jams/marmalades, yoghurts, cold and cooked vegetables and there was a coffee machine. We were recommeded a local restaurant for authentic paella by one of the receptionist staff and we were not disappointed. The caprinhas were also the best we tasted in Barcelona, at that restaurant. Probably because we had been going to 'tourist traps' as the staff member had said.
The rooms were regularly cleaned, if you wanted. Only thing I would recommend would be to provide (slightly) bigger bottles of water.
This hotel is located very close to the beach, so no need to visit the rooftop pool. And they do allow you to use their towels when visiting the beach.
The rooftop area is nice. A little.small. The pool always seemed crowded, so it was good that my friend and I preferred the beach. You can take some great photos of the beach from the rooftop area and they sell food (burgers, fries, onion rings, etc) and drinks, which is a plus if you don't want to leave the restaurant for lunch.
As I said the hotel is close to the beach and also quite close to a few restaurants if you take a walk either to the left or the right of the entrance.

Great stay!

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights at the end of a cruise so we could explore Barcelona. The hotel is ideally located right by the beach in a lovely quiet location but with public transport right nearby which was great for visiting different places. The aura of the hotel was lovely peaceful and calm. There was plenty of sunbeds/tables and chairs available and I loved the fact they had towels available for you to use. The room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. All the staff were lovely and helpful and we had an amazing stay at this hotel and would definately return here again!

BED BUGS

This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. During our stay, both my friend and I ended up with bed bug bites. Discovering that after sleeping in the room was disgusting and stressful, and it completely ruined our trip.
What made the situation even worse was how the hotel handled it. Instead of taking full responsibility, the best they offered was a $200 hotel credit that can only be used at their property and to wash our clothes. A credit to return to the same hotel where we encountered bed bugs is not an acceptable solution.
When we requested a refund, the hotel claimed they couldn't refund us directly because we booked through Expedia. However, Expedia contacted the hotel on our behalf to request authorization for a refund, and the hotel denied it. So despite acknowledging the issue enough to offer a credit, they refused to approve a refund for a room that was clearly not fit to stay in.
The lack of accountability and customer service was incredibly disappointing. No one should have to deal with bed bugs on vacation, and the way this was handled made an already awful experience even worse. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else if you value cleanliness and a hotel that stands behind its guests when serious issues arise.
