Not a boutique hotel

Let me start with the positive. This was a lovely place a few kilometers outside of Jaca that is perfect for people who don't want to be in town and don't mind the drive and parking that is involved in organizing dinner in town. The hotel is small (less than 10 rooms) and intimate. The room was spacious and comfortable, the common areas were equally inviting, and we were incredibly well-taken care of by Emmanuel, who staffed the place.
The negative, for us, was in what one reviewer referred to as misleading advertising. Reading about the hotel on line gives the prospective guest no sense whatsoever that this is a "do it yourself" operation--something that the name "Boutique Hotel" does not even remotely imply. There is no reception on site, something we didn't anticipate or plan for. We received emails from the hotel prior to our arrival inviting us to register online to make things faster upon our arrival, but there was nothing that indicated that it was only by doing so that you would receive the information on how to let yourself in. We arrived in the rain, only to find a locked gate and no instructions on what to do. We had to call the hotel's number, which doesn't get you to the hotel but rather to a central number (and a long time on hold) for many hotels, and which insisted we should have the information. After a few such phone calls, each requiring long holds until a representative was available, and a brief hail storm, we successfully negotiated getting an email with instructions. That enabled us to get into the lockbox that held the key to the gate, but once inside the gate we struggled to gain entry through either the front or back doors. The back door was jammed, so there was no way to know it wasn't locked. The front door should have been easy, and it was our fault for not realizing it wasn't locked, but we were so frazzled by this time that we probably weren't thinking clearly. We had to call again, and the person on the phone indicated he would contact Emmanuel to send him over to help us. While we were waiting, we figured out how to get the front door open and how to open the lock box indoors to get the key to our room. That is not to say it was a wasted trip for Emmanuel. Having him there to explain how things work, answer questions about the area, and order breakfast for the next morning was incredibly helpful--and things we would have missed out on if we had been able to successfully negotiate the entry.
We couldn't have asked more of Emmanuel, who was incredibly kind and generous. We had just driven all day and were exhausted, so he not only helped us order a pizza; he went out and picked it up for us. The owner's are lucky to have him representing them.
This being early May, we had the place to ourselves the first night we spent there and shared it with one other very pleasant couple our second night.
All in all, this felt more like an AirBnB than a Boutique Hotel. There was nothing wrong with the arrangement, but we would have had an easier time if we knew what we were getting into, were given clear instructions that online registration was a requirement for getting the information needed to access the place (rather than something that would save us time by not having to register when we arrived), and that we shouldn't expect a staff person on site. A name change is definitely in order.

Necasto

They charged me for breakfast and couldn't give it to me because they made a mistake. And they didn't even refund me for it.

Clean, comfortable but NOT a hotel—better classified as a BnB without coffee or tea service.

Clean and Comfortable, but no services at all. The website is misleading—it describes this place as a boutique hotel, with breakfast and dinner service, a spa, conceirge service for local recommendations and even a Nespresso in the room. NONE of that is true.
Shortly before arrival, we were informed that the “hotel” no longer has a kiitchen and that they could arrange for someone to bring us breakfast the next day. The principal phone number goes unanswered, and the second number goes to someone who is more of an answering service. When I asked about recommendations for dinner in Jaca—the nearest town—he said I should look on the “hotel chat”—also a phantom.
In the room there was a jar of drinking water which tasted like old plumbing. There was no tea or nespresso in the room; downstairs in the “breakfast club” there was tea and a pot to boil water in, but no water was provided. Access to the patio from that room was locked. The “spa” was locked. We came to understand that if you want anything at all, you need to call them at the numbers I described above.
My husband complained to the Owner, who was very defensive and said that all services were available. The next day we decided to request breakfast for the following morning, and the “hotel” refused to order breakfast for us, saying that they did not have provisions. This felt like revenge for us having complained.
During our two nights we had nice dinners in Jaca (we just wandered around and found two great places). We slept well because the “hotel” is in a quite suburban neighborhood with strong wind that acts like white noise. Comfortable bed, good bedding and sheets and a good shower. If the website were honest about the “hotel”’s offerings we would have givien it a better rating. But it isn’t, and the owner was kind of a jerk.

Not a hotel! It’s an Airbnb with no services

Not a hotel! It’s like an AirBnB with no services. While very charming the instructions to get in are incorrect so it makes it difficult to stay.

Great food

Super friendly team who were really helpful and did everything possible to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Room was a good size and the bed comfortable and huge. Shower was powerful and hot. Lovely lounge and guest dining area with honesty bar. We ate dinner which was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was good too. Parking isn’t onsite so you need to park on a nearby road.
