Very good calm relaxing holiday
Having stayed at many 3 and 4 star hotel in majorca, I would say this is a solid 3. Im on night 6 of 7 so still here. It was a budget holuday costing me and my adult daughter£750 each in the first week of the school holidays (she works in a school so have to go this time of year) which i think is pretty reasonable for all inclusive.
Pool is cleaned daily and tested once a week. Areas around the pool are cleaned daily, with a deeper clean once a week. About 100 sunbeds, but only about 18 umbrellas but most people that come this time of year don't want one. Also plenty of shade on chairs near the pool. It is lovely to be adults only.
Food is good. Not a massive choice as its quite a small hotel and some people are b&b or half board. Always a fish dish and pork or chicken usually. Lovely salads. Breakfast has the most choice of the day. I didn't find the food to be cold at all, but I do eat all meals early. There is a microwave to heat up if required.
There is a pool table (2 euros), table tennis which i think is free and a small gym which we used daily. You have to walk across someone's terrace to get in. There is also a small outdoor aperatus.
I didn't find i was treated any different being English as some have suggested. Frank the barman/lifeguard apologised for his lack of English, although his english is better than my Spanish. Mainly German guests, but also spanish, French, English, Scottish, Irish and Polish in that order at the moment.
You can hire towels for the pool with a 10 euro deposit and then you pay 1 euro cleaning fee each time you change them, or on return at the end of the holiday. There are complaints about this, but I have no problem with it. It makes you think about the environment.
You pay 1 euro for a disc at reception for plastic glasses to be used pool side during the day. Yes they are small especially with ice in but you can always buy more. Bar staff give you the tokens back at the end of the day to be used again the nnext day. Just tell them youare finished. At the end of the holiday, you get refunded for them at reception. You do not need them after 7pm when normal half pint glasses are issued for drinks.
Evening entertainment is really non existent although music is played. We went for walks, (row of tourist shops and supermarket 2 min walk away) or went to.our room and watched YouTube in English (Google how to change it to english). We brought cards and board games with us.
Daytime (except sundays) entertainment is run by Juma from Kenya who is very hardworking. He does aqua aerobics and dancing. He is also guest relations and will interact with each guest several times a day to make sure everyone is happy. He is a lovely man.
We have had a very relaxed, low key holiday. Hotel is near the sea and estuary. Over the bridge, you can catch a bus to Porto cristo in the south or call ratjarda in the north (426). It is cheaper to scan debit card when getting on and off than pay cash for journeys. Nice walk along the prom at cala bona and cala millor. Reception are helpful of you want more information.
I would pay to upgrade the room. We didn't and the room was very small, but because of an aircon issue we were moved and upgraded after the first night to a much larger room. Both beds were very comfortable.
All in all a very pleasant holiday. If you go with the attitude of having a good time rather than finding fault it's great.

Avoid!!!!
Avoid this hotel if you expect a genuine 4-star experience. Hotel Canyamel Classic was one of the most disappointing hotels we’ve stayed in.
The air conditioning was completely inadequate. Our first night was unbearable because it didn’t work at all, and we had to argue with reception before they finally agreed to move us. No guest should have to fight for a basic necessity.
The food was poor, repetitive and offered very little choice. Many meals were lukewarm, and there was rarely anything to look forward to. The pool was dirty and clearly not maintained to an acceptable standard.
Entertainment was almost non-existent, with very little happening in the evenings, making the hotel feel lifeless.
This hotel is advertised as 4-star, but that is seriously misleading. It’s barely worthy of 3 stars. The facilities, food and overall standards fall well below what you’d reasonably expect.
We spent good money on this holiday and came away feeling completely let down. We would not stay here again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Not 4 star
Not 4* no food available outside set meal times. We arrived at 2.30 and had to wait till 7.00 for food. Only 1 beer and a few local spirits included in the package . Get in quick if you want food from the bbq as it goes quickly. Only lukewarm water to shower with, no bottled water in room. There was only 2 nights out of 7 that had entertainment on. Juma couldn’t be faulted for his efforts to keep everyone happy.
On the plus side the pool is lovely and there’s plenty of sun beds and parasols although the majority of them were broken.

Absolutely Not a 4‑Star Experience (Brit Review)
If you’ve booked this thinking it’s a 4‑star all‑inclusive, let me save you the suspense: it isn’t. At best it’s a decent 2‑star or a tired 3‑star, and that’s being generous. If I were you, I’d move. Especially factoring the price we paid.
My friend was convinced the reviews were exaggerated and people were just being dramatic. Within 30 minutes of arriving, she admitted she was wrong. (I nearly collapsed)
First Room
• No air conditioning — completely broken.
• Bathroom ceiling caved in from a water leak.
• Loose wires and no working sockets.
• The room simply should never have been let out.
We were told “no rooms were available” until morning. Strangely, a room appeared the moment we said we’d move hotels.
Replacement Room
• Air‑con: half working, so technically an upgrade.
• Water pressure: non‑existent in the evenings — either nothing or a cold dribble.
The only time you can get a lukewarm shower is 8am, ideal if you enjoy washing off yesterday’s sun cream instead of today’s.
Food & Restaurant
The food choice is very limited — my work canteen has more variety.
There is a decent salad section, but with no air‑con in the restaurant, be prepared to sweat through your lettuce.
Pool Area
Recently renovated and fine for the first few days… until the filter broke, turning the pool cloudy enough that you couldn’t see the bottom.
When raised, we were told it was “tested last week”. Most 4‑stars test daily, but sure.
All‑Inclusive Drinks
Drinks are made with the cheapest vodka imaginable — a brand I haven’t seen since my 1‑star Magaluf days. Not exactly 4‑star standards.
Entertainment
Very limited. Down to personal preference, but don’t expect much.
Staff
Friendly — genuinely the reason this review isn’t a complete zero‑dot wipeout.
Sunbeds
A rare positive: you can actually get one.
They may not have been cleaned in a week, but availability is good until mid to late morning.
Overall
Would I stay here again? Absolutely not.
I genuinely cannot understand the 5‑dot reviews. I even ended up playing a game of “Guess Who” / bingo matching 5‑dot reviewers’ names to staff badges. I’m not implying anything improper… but I was close to a full house.

Amazing
The experience at this hotel was really nice and I enjoyed my time here. The food is delicious and stuff really nice with us. Especially the girl, Iustina, she helped me a lot and was really friendly with us.
