Ovaj pansion smješten u tipičnoj kući u andaluzijskom stilu u Rocíu nudi elegantan klimatizirani smještaj s vlastitim kupaonicama. Udaljen je samo 5 minuta vožnje od Nacionalnog parka Doñana.

Only one night here, but I like the hotel and room also. Big and comfortable. Maybe they should change the main door locker, because it is very difficult to open. At least one hotel where the aircon does not blow the cold are to your face

A stay in the town which time forgot
We stayed at Hostal El Rocio for one night in August 2014 with the aim to visit Parque Doñana, the Nature Reserve. Arriving in the pueblo, I was completely taken aback by the non-paved streets. Sand everywhere and the favoured mode of transport for most: horse and carriage. The hotel was easy to find, brilliantly sign-posted everywhere and situated on a square. Very pretty to look at with a covered patio and indoors a living room type entrance/reception. A very friendly welcome by the receptionist and we were shown to our rooms. Small but adequate for our stay.
We did not know that in August every weekend was party time in the village with flamenco music all through the night, and of course it was very hot, but the hotel itself and El Rocio are well worth a visit. Our breakfast in the morning (not included in the price) was ok for the purpose.
All in all a good base for visiting Parque Doñana and other attractions in the area and we will be back when it is a little cooler and there are no fiestas.

Noisesome Drains, Noisy Guests
An apparently pretty pension, built around a traditional central courtyard, but... The en-suite bathroom, built as a wetroom smelt of drains. if you didn't remember to close the bathroom door completely, the smell pervaded the bedroom and was quite nauseating. It was however kept spotlessly clean during our two-night stay. In fact it was so clean that they even cleaned away my partner's (unused) makeup removal towels at no extra cost!
The white-painted bedroom would have benefited from a different colour scheme and lighting that didn't give you the impression that you were in an underwater operating theatre.
As for the bathroom itself, the shower cubicle was so small (approx 20 inches wide) that any movement you made once inside it meant that either you closed the wall-mounted mixer tap, or you changed its temperature setting. Result? a scalding jet of water or a freezing one.
The courtyard, with its typical tiles and metal staircase leading to the first floor meant that the slightest noise (the slamming of the spring-loaded wrought-iron and rattly glass access door, for example) echoed around and either woke you up, or kept you awake.
We were unlucky enough to be next to slamming door and the coomunal fridge, so once people started to get ready for the day, they congregated outside our room and talked in loud voices and went in and out of the slammy door while loading stuff into their iceboxes from the fridge - not quite the dawn chorus we would have hoped for.
Why didn't reception do anything about this? Quite simply because there was no-one on reception. To ring them you had to use your own mobile as there was no phone in the room. However, as the people that run the place live above the reception area, they must have heard the commotion, but did nothing about it - on either morning.
I'd never go back there unless I was equipped with a face mask, earplugs and had a gun at my head - even then I'd think twice about it. It wasn't worth the €46 per night that we paid and DEFINITELY NOT the €500 that they charge in the high season.

Expensive for what it is
I stayed here as part of a large group visiting Donana National Park, which really would be the only reason you would come here except during the feria at Pentecost. It really is a one-horse town and overall we did not find the people here especially friendly. We had the worst meal during our trip here in El Rocio, where 2130 seems (unlike in the rest of Spain) to be considered to late to eat (not quite fair to put this in the hotel's review, of course). The hotel itself was quite adequate but the rooms are really small. Breakfast was okay. We would be unlikely to stay here again.

Pleasant Stay
Stayed here recently for two nights and was able to practice my Spanish. Room was excellent and comfortable and we had breakfast here also which was good. We asked here for recommendations of restaurants in the area which were provided.
