A Good Place to Stay
The hotel is basic, but it covers what you need. It is conveniently located near the Calle Real, where all the shops and restaurants are located. There is a café next door that we found convenient for a morning coffee or breakfast. The air conditioning worked very well. The furniture is flimsy and old. The bathroom door would not stay open, and it was chipped near the bottom. There is no safe in the room to store valuables. The property is within a short walk of the beach, whether you are strolling down the esplanade or taking a dip. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had to ask for a hair dryer, and I wonder if they have enough for every room. The biggest issue now is the construction they are doing in front of the building where there used to be a parking lot. It caused some noise and dust during the day, but it will be worth it when it is finished. It’s not perfect, but I’d book again.

NightMare! Avoid.
If your expectations are fairly high then avoid this hotel. We booked the day before for an unexpected overnight trip. There were very few hotel options and this seemed like the best of a bad bunch. The lobby area is quite nice but that’s where it ends. The rooms are tired and cheaply furnished, our room, 409 is big enough and has a balcony, however, the view is of the back of the hotel and the noise from the air conditioning units outside is horrendous, who’d want to sit on a balcony with that noise? We asked to change rooms but all they have available is a very small twin room with no balcony. The photos on Booking.com of the rooms do not match our room, they obviously have refurbished rooms but we were not given an option of this. There’s 2 coat hangers in the wardrobe and the doors don’t shut properly, no iron, no water, or tea/coffee facilities. We’ve been here 15 minutes and I’ve been to reception twice, one to request a room change then to ask for an iron, ironing board and hairdryer, which I’ve had to wrestle into a lift and to our room myself. I have obviously irritated the girl on reception because all she does is roll her eyes at me.

Terrible
Great location and the staff were nice but that was it. Extremely noisy. You can hear everything from rooms next door, walls are paper thin! BE warned. Also building work outside which will go on for some time since they are building an underground car park. Poor breakfast. Unfortunately I will not be visiting again....sorry.

Mare Estepona hotel
Location and room were great, Carmen, at registration keeping us informed of where to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner, price within reason. The beach within 3 minutes, really nice street adjacent to beach, La Rada beach, to walk around.

I do not recommend this hotel basically for one thing: the parking. There is no god where to park the car, I spent more than half an hour looking far from the hotel. That's the main con. Another con would be the noise, the rooms are not soundproof or something, because it is incredible what you hear in neighboring rooms, and if I say about the people in the hallway….
Then for the location of the hotel, value for money and little else if I advise it. It's not that it's a super modern hotel, but it's fine for sleeping.
