Pension Matilde offers free internet connection and simple rooms, some with private bathrooms. This family-run guest house is just 350 metres from Granada Cathedral, in the historic city centre. The rooms at the Matilde feature tiled floors and basic, white décor. Some have air conditioning and others have a fan. Free wired internet access is available in the rooms. The Matilde Guest House offers a continental breakfast and can provide maps and information about Granada. They can also book tickets for flamenco shows or visits to the Alhambra. Free Wi-Fi is also available in public areas. Drinks and snacks are available from the Matilde’s vending machine. There are many places to eat nearby Plaza de Trinidad, and the popular tapas bars of Calle Elvira are within a 10-minute walk. Public parking can be found 500 metres away, with discounted rates for guests. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform Pensión Matilde in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. It is not possible to stay at this property for Coronavirus (COVID-19) quarantine purposes. Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. Bad.

The good thing is that it adds breakfast and they make you the bed and the bad thing is that you can tell that they have not painted it because the walls are very dirty and some corners with cobwebs, they are not put some appliques and some other defects, in the bathroom the water had lime and the lid fell. The sheets were dirty and the pillows had hair. In the kitchen there was nothing to cook, just a cup and a plate nothing else, we were 4 people there were just cleaning things. The location if very good otherwise bad.

TO AVOID

Terrible. Peeling walls, dirty sheets, terrible breakfast. The bathroom was so small that I couldn't sit up straight because my legs were hitting the shower stall.
The only positive thing is the central location and the possibility of parking on the street.......... However, absolutely to be avoided

Completely Unprofessional

Made a booking and soon after tried to change the dates to dates that were available - all they had to do was click a button to accept, yet we were ignored. All messages were ignored before and after this. Requested a refund. Ignored. Contacted customer service who contacted them on our behalf - still ignored.
Finally, when we didn’t arrive on the initially booked date the booking was cancelled without any consultation with us, leaving us with nowhere to stay when arriving a day later. No refund. Still being ignored. Accomodation providers can cancel for a no show if they communicate this policy at the time of booking but no such policy was seen when we made the booking.
Avoid at all costs if you value any form of customer service when booking a service.

Not recommended!!!!!

The room is old, smelly, dirty with a smell of urine and I'm stopping here, windows that don't close, breakfast below basic with very rude staff. not recommended.
Ps. Compliments to the photographer, the rooms are totally different.

Disappointing

Bad experience in this guesthouse, where the smell of urine in the room and bathroom was the backdrop to two days of vacation.
Check in and breakfast (basic I would say) are done in one building and the room was in another building, on the third floor without a lift. Broken window with 6° outside (luckily we had a dirty air conditioner where hot and dirty air came out), broken bathroom tiles, shower with other people's hair...
I don't mention the cleaning but I leave photos about it. The only positive thing is the location it is in, the rest leaves everything to be desired.
I was fooled by the photographs published which are not entirely truthful and I went there because of the proximity to the apartment of my daughter, who studies in Granada.
I don't recommend this place.
