Like going back in time to an era where the customer is everything.
We arrived at Casa Palacio Maria Luisa on Friday 19th June for two nights. From the moment we stepped out of our taxi, we knew we were staying somewhere really special. We were greeted immediately by a gentle man who took our luggage so that we could check in. We were lucky as our room was ready even though we were early. Our room was stunning and we had a little balcony overlooking the square.
The room, had all amenities, which you can choose the make of before you stay. Coffee machine, but no kettle, no problem, they provided one as soon as I asked. Large super king sized bed, a little on the hard side, but lots of pillows and super quiet air conditioning. Turn down every evening, which is rare these days.
We had dinner in their beautiful restaurant that night, which was also stunning, delicious food, great surroundings and service, and a little table provided for your handbag!
The hotel itself has been restored exquisitely - as well as the restaurant, there’s a bar inside, decorated like an old fashioned gentleman’s club, a beautiful atrium, a relaxing area with an open fire for winter time and a separate breakfast room with outside seating. The gardens and outside bar area are all great spaces.
We felt this was a very unique hotel, and the surroundings and the service were both from another era when service was everything. It’s very rare these days, and we stayed in some lovely hotels in Cádiz and Seville on this trip, but not in this class.
After our two nights were done, we were very sad to leave. Thank you to all the staff, you were amazing.

Luxurious stay in a beautiful hotel
We were very impressed with this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Although our room was quite small, it was very well decorated and had a lovely huge bed. The bathroom was a good size with a good selection of quality toiletries. We also had a nice small private patio which was quite pleasant and shaded. The restaurants are very elegant and the food was exceptional. The rooftop pool was small but it was a good place to cool down.
The rooftop has four Sun lounges to chill out on.
There is a decent Gym on the roof too.
The Garden was lovely and peaceful. There is also a well stocked bar. We would certainly recommend this hotel if you want a luxury stay in Jerez.

Disappointment with the service at Hotel Maria Luisa.
Dinner, good; service, fair.
They served our drinks very late; as a courtesy they did not charge for them, but that is not how a ☆☆☆☆ hotel should operate. We could not dance because of how late they served the dishes. The table decorations, too simple. Some waiter, wiping sweat with his hands while serving our tables, what a disgusting detail!!
The Tribute cost us 50 €, it was not free, and even if it had been, neither..!!
Total disappointment, we will not return!!

A lovely 5 star boutique hotel
There are many good quality points at this hotel. You receive very warm welcome, and the orange blossom fragrance on entry is enchanting. The hotel is very elegant and serene. The reception staff are particularly helpful. The turn down service is lovely, and includes a chocolate and a bottle of water.
But two points. Firstly, although there is a large amount of choice on the breakfast menu, the breakfast process itself is actually quite complicated. Only one person was serving on our first morning, and we found we were constantly having to ask for things; it made us feel that we were a bit of a nuisance. Also even though the two of us were sat at a table that was meant for four people, there was not enough room for glasses, cups, teapots, milk jugs, fruit selection, toast, etc. There is also a quirk that none of the teapots had lids! It would also be helpful if a small kettle could be provided in rooms for making tea - the coffee machine is really only geared up for making coffee, it does not reach the boiling point required for tea making.
As a five star hotel, the breakfast service particularly needs a review, in terms of the customer experience.
But two points. Firstly, although there is a large amount of choice on the breakfast menu, the breakfast process itself is actually quite complicated. Only one person was serving on our first morning, and we found we were constantly having to ask for things; it made us feel that we were a bit of a nuisance.
