Consider it when you visit Madrid

The hotel has the best location as it is in the heart of the city, very handy to shops (Dia) and within walking distance of the metro. The hotel has a restaurant downstairs that offers breakfast for 16 euros per person, which I found too pricey for a basic breakfast. The room was very comfy and large. The room service was good, but they only replaced the towels and never replaced anything else, such as tea, coffee and the bottle of water. I found the staff were friendly and very helpful with directions

To repeat when I return to Madrid. This hotel was quite a discovery.

Great, newly remodeled hotel. Spacious and comfortable rooms, good air conditioning, good bathrooms. Very well located two blocks from Gran Vía. Good metro connection at Plaza Santo Domingo. It has a pool and a terrace with a wonderful panoramic view.

The room was clean, tidy, and well presented, but several technical issues made our stay disappointing.
The air conditioning could not be adjusted because the wall-mounted control panel was defective. As a result, the room remained extremely cold throughout our stay, almost like a refrigerator.
In addition, the shower drain was completely clogged, causing water to collect around our feet every time we showered. This was both unpleasant and frustrating.
I expect hotel rooms to be checked and any maintenance issues to be resolved before guests check in. I do not expect to spend my vacation contacting reception and waiting for a maintenance technician. Unfortunately, these issues took away from what could otherwise have been a pleasant stay.

NOT even a 3 star!!

Awful. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Not sure where to begin other than I was extremely happy to leave. Small, dated, dirty rooms. A few really good staff but most do not care. Broken window shutter so no privacy or decent sleep due to early morning sun. Horrible metal garden furniture which is chipped and rusty, faulty safe with our belongings stuck inside and the man on reception shrugged and said maintenance were not here. I said I needed to access the safe and was told 'do you expect magic'. We requested an iron and ironing board,it was in a disgusting condition! Walls are very thin so you can hear noise from adjoining rooms. Old and dirty carpets.....I could go on. On our last day at breakfast my husband had some yogurt and selected some tinned peaches. He took a mouthful and said that they tasted really bad. I could smell them across the table, it was rancid. We alerted a member of staff so they could be removed and were greeted with a shrug again!

Service in general was good except on the terrace during dinner.

The stay was very pleasant. The room was small but comfortable, with poor cleaning on the terrace since there is dirt behind the lounge chair.
On the terrace during dinner, and that is why it is three points, they take a long time to serve, to the point that we even had to get up to ask for coffee after waiting ten minutes for them to serve us.
In that regard, quite bad.
