WOW. A little gem tucked away :)
What can I say. We stayed here for 2 nights. The host 'Eli' was wonderful. Didn't meet personally which was a shame, but we were given instructions how to retrieve the keys by text. Welcome greeting on our bedroom door was a lovely touch as were the sweeties and toiletries. Bed was super comfy, lovely and warm with plenty of blankets as like many other homes in Spain there is no heating. As a housekeeping Supervisor myself I found this home perfectly clean and well maintained, we used the local buses to travel from the airport, simple :) bus A from outside the arrivals terminal to the centre of Malaga and then a choice of 3 buses 1,C1 and C2 to the main road Almeda De Capuchinos , followed by a short 2 mins walk to the house. The house is about 1 - 1.5 km walking distance from the main centre ,where there are lots of bars ,restaurants and shops. Not forgetting Picasso's birthplace and museum. and a wonderful walkway which lights up at night. A perfect break and we will definitely be returning.

Terrible!!!
Blood stains on the towel, shower cubicle falling apart, dirty stains on the shower door, sink leaking and when you walked in socks your socks were black.
Parking in the area is not possible, you will have to drive in circles for an hour or you will pay a lot of money for a parking garage. Nice part of the city.
Employees did not think along and no longer responded to our messages. Terrible accommodation!

Owner failed to communicate but nice enough facilities
I suppose you get what you pay for. I would not recommend staying in this guest house unless you want to preemptively email the owner to figure out how to get in. 95% of our complaints stem from the lack of communication prior to our arrival. We wouldn't have known to ask for check in procedure in advance. This should just be provided.
Prior to our visit we received no instructions on how to get in. Our Booking.com email just included a pin but no other information.
Upon arrival, there was no sign on the door or instructions so we walked past it at first. After double checking the address, we knew we were at the right place. There was no one at the guesthouse, even though we were checking in after the 2 pm mark. We tried ringing the voice buzzer several times and no one answered. A French woman who was already a guest happened to arrive around the same time we did. She had keys, but she couldn't get in with hers.
Together, we all waited outside while we spent money on data to pull up the old emails looking for the host's contact number. Then we had to pay for an international phone call to get in touch. Luckily she answered, but the PIN we received via email was incorrect. She gave us the correct PIN, and this was used to open a lockbox outside the guesthouse door which contained all incoming residents' keys.
Once we got in, we used each of our three keys to open a different set of doors. We also were not told in advance what our room number would be, but luckily once we got in there were chalkboard signs on each bedroom door which had our name on it.
The actual house is cute and well maintained. There are 3 or 4 bedrooms, and two shared bathrooms. There is a kitchen, washing machine, wifi, linens/towels, and a patio. However, my travel mate said when they went to shower one night there were two cockroaches in the bathroom. I never saw them during my morning showers or anywhere else in the house, though.
I was not able to connect to the Wifi with my laptop, only my phone, even after running numerous diagnostics and restarting.
We received no communication regarding how to check out of the guesthouse. We sent the host a message via WhatsApp, a number which was provided on an information sheet in our rooms, and it did not work for us. We had to email her to get instructions.
She did offer to book us a cab for our departure, which she followed through with and the cab was there as promised.

The room was ok but a bit far from the center
The accommodation was ok, the room big enough, clean and the bed comfy. It had a door to the "patio" where there was a girl reading when we arrived in the evening...so actually we had to keep the door and the blinds always closed otherwise everybody could see everything inside the room...the bathroom wasn't that clean and although they required to mop after ourselves we hardly found the mop (it was in a closet in the patio...) so the people just left the bathroom so. The flat was 15-20 min walking from the center which was more what we thought when reserved (it was indicated "center location" in booking. com). Plus point that there was a huge free parking area just a few steps from the flat, and the owner gave us instructions how to get the keys.

Not so good & poor communication
Booked this through Bookings. Turns out it's basically an AIRBNB with rooms rented out in a house, a single shared bathroom and no on-site host. When we arrived there was no one there but a little note on the buzzer that said "call me". Luckily, we had the ability to do so even though internationally traveling. The woman (never provide her name) told us she wasn't there and we needed to come back later. Just after hanging up one of the other guests came to the door and explained that the key was in a lock box and we needed to get the combo from her. So we called back and when pressed she gave us the combo and our room was actually ready. The arrival wouldn't have been so bad, if the host had simply communicated with us ahead of time. But we heard nothing from her even though she had both an email and phone contact for us. Other than the poor communication the place was basically a flop house - not so clean room (found hair on bedsheets), hot, in-room doors onto a shared courtyard that (even though the reservation said we'd have a balcony), only one bathroom for way too many guests (at least 6 guests for one bathroom), and wifi that stopped working. The location was ok - 15-20 minute walk from the start of the center city. Having stayed at other places around Andalusia the price of €37/night seemed quite high - this was by far the worst place we stayed. Avoid if possible.
