A great place to rest on the Spiritual Camino
Full disclosure: I have not stayed here because I mismanaged my planning and while this is an absolutely perfect location for the Spiritual Camino, my timing did not allow for this variant of the pilgrimage.
What my review, therefore, will be about is the interaction I've had with Santiago, Sarita, and Maga, the small team behind Pousada Armenteira, prior to and all the way up to my cancelling my booking with them. Their property seems OBJECTIVELY really good judging by the ratings here and on other sites. More importantly, though, they seem like genuinely NICE people and this is something always worth appreciating. From the moment I booked this property I was eagerly looking forward experiencing it. The team was responsive and kind throughout all our interactions. Even when realising I made a planning mistake and I have to cancel, they were nothing but curteous and understanding. It is this that engenders loyalty and positive reviews.
I look forward to doing the Camino Portuguese again and 100% staying here. It honestly looks like an amazing place to spend at least 2 nights, and most other reviews here and elsewhere confirm this.

Beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel located along camino route. Very friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Super pool to relax in. No bar or food service apart from breakfast.

one very relaxing stay
simple check-in with friendly and helpful staff,my room was quite big with a very comfy double bed,good storage,mini fridge,safety deposit box,good sized bathroom with shower and bath tub under the shower floor,throw in a good sized outdoor space to dry your clothes if your on the caminho or just relax and enjoy the fine views with the provided sun lounger and this lovely pousada has so much going for it.my only regret was i didn't mention i was leaving early the next morning as at check out a picnic was offered but time was against me a bit but i do appreciate the offer.

Experience not to be repeated
At the end of September, doing with my wife the Camino de Santiago on foot, I stayed one night in this 4 star hotel. Against a cost of 150 euros for a double room, including breakfast, the stay did not meet my expectations for several reasons. The structure, in modern style, is a bit isolated and externally a bit neglected. The room was spacious, but the cleanliness left something to be desired. Under the desk there were traces of dust and also the veranda had cobwebs on the windows. The bathroom had a micro sink with the tap just over 10 cm from the bottom, so it was a challenge to wash; the shower complicated to manage. The breakfast buffet was good, hours 8.00-10.30; we arrived at 8.30 and unfortunately there were already a lot of things in short supply. For example, I barely managed to eat the penultimate croissant and the last natural yogurt; the people who arrived just after us were left without it. As things went on they were no longer replaced. There was only one person to serve everyone. Many guests took the opportunity to take away fruit and pastries, without the service staff seeing or saying anything, clearly damaging those arriving later. There was only one person at the reception. Another notable shortcoming is the lack of a bar and restaurant in the hotel. There is only one water dispenser in the lobby along with a kettle for coffee and herbal teas. There is no refrigerator in the room. For dinner, there is only one restaurant in the village. The price paid for one night is absolutely not justified and adequate to the quality of the service given. Unfortunately it was the only hotel in Armenteira, along the Camino, in an area where for several kilometers there is nothing else. I strongly advise against it.
