Peaceful sun soaked oasis

A warm welcome despite the pouring rain, we felt immediately at home at "Charo's House". The grounds are stunning and very well looked after. The guest house was spacious and included a lovely mezzanine bed for our daughter. The location is secluded and quiet with gorgeous views of the mountains and the sea. Everything you need to make the most of your time in this special part of the world is on hand. There are beach umbrellas to borrow, massage therapist available, a wonderful BBQ set up and even a spare yoga mat. A true home from home and we can't wait to return!

Beautiful but remote hotel

Beautiful quirky hotel in a fabulous setting ,the gardens are stunning,and the pool area is superb.
Food was great and service was excellent,nothing was too much trouble for Vanessa who is a great assett to this hotel.
However, it is very remote though tranquil,and there is literally nothing nearby. You have to travel by car to any attractions eg Agua Amarga.
It is an ideal location to chill out and relax if you wish not to leave the hotel.

perfect view

our room is spacious. kitchen is ok. not suitable for real cooking. the interior can be more comfortable. view is perfect. garden, pool and jacuzzi are all very nice. staff is very friendly and helpful. wifi is great. we enjoyed very much the area. car is a must.

Great ethos

Care, attention to details, spotless, great ethos in a beautiful setting. Charo effortlessly made us feel welcome. We loved trekking through the desert to the isolated beach, picking figs from the trees on the way. For those who value authenticity.

Perfect for honeymooners?

Some 3kms west of Agua Amarga is La Joya resort, tucked away on the barren landscape. We had noticed it via Trip Advisor & decided to visit. The small art gallery is open from late afternoon, but the main facilities are available only to booked in residents, as was explained by the oh so formal receptionist. There are about a dozen luxury suites; a good bar & no children under 12 years of age. Probably the ideal spot for wealthy honeymooners! The whole facility has an air of sophistication. Interesting - ah, if only.......!
