Highly recommended

We were a hiking group and we were very happy. They treated us very well. The abundant and varied breakfast. We asked for something that wasn't there and the next day they brought it. Great dinner, very good every day. Clean and comfortable facilities. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. A highly recommended site.

The hotel itself was nice enough but we were very disappointed on arrival to find that the bar and the restaurant were both closed for reasons my Spanish was not good enough to understand.
The promised restaurants in the village turned out to also be closed but we were eventually able to find some snacks at a bar.
Having specifically booked a place with bar and restaurant it is very annoying to have to traipse around finding something to eat after a day's travelling.

Five star hotel with zero for food

My husband and I stayed here 4 nights at the end of October. The hotel was deserted outside of the weekend. Obviously the holiday season was over and we learned that although popular with Spaniards few foreigners stay there. The hotel is slightly outside Quintanaron the road to Neila. The man on the desk was welcoming and very helpful telling us about the area and giving us maps and a leaflet. He spoke a little English though seemed relieved that my husband spoke Spanish.
The room was clean and comfortable. It was quiet although on the Friday and Saturday nights we could hear furniture being moved in adjacent rooms. The bathroom too was very clean with good water pressure. The heating worked well and could be adjusted easily.
Breakfast was very good value and copious _ cereal, fruit, bread, cakes, jams and orange juice. The coffee came in very small quantities : just one cup. We didn’t see anyone asking for more so didn’t try!
The food in the dining room ( only available Fridays and Saturdays, at least at his time of the year) was truly awful. The room itself reminiscent of somewhere in Eastern Europe pre 1980 was strangely lit with sparsely laid tables. The menu was a long list of tapas and main courses - no puddings. No vegetables apart from a few potatoes with some of the mains. My husband had pork and I had seafood - both bunged on a plate with no attempt at a recipe. They tasted the same. Avoid the menu here or just have tapas. The following night we bought our own food and ate in our room. However the gin and tonics - just 5€ - were excellent!
