Excellent welcome and food.

The two Brazilian sisters make this place a wonderful site for any client. I stayed as a pilgrim and the bed and services were of equal quality. Absolutely recommended! The lentils and the veal were very good, breakfast shortly after seven, with many things to choose from.

Good location, average service

Small bar that seemed to be popular with the locals but we found the service was really slow, maybe that’s because they were serving the locals. But the location was right opposite the monastery so good location although it was on the main road so was a bit noisy

Classic Cafe Albergue Hostel

This was the first official hostel or albergue I stayed at on my way to Santiago de Compostela on my Camino Pilgrimage in the fall of 2019. Most of the pilgrims take the route through Sarria but they are mistaken. The route to Samos is less traveled that is true...but that is the point of the Camino! To find yourself losing the crowds...
The facility was busy with pilgrims with a cafe restaurant downstairs and accommodations up. You can choose from a mixed bunk room like I did not a private room for more. I was put in a bunk room with a bunch of older Spanish men who spoke no English. That's the Camino!
The place was clean but only one person working there who did it ALL. Totally understaffed. She was the cook, innkeeper and maintenance. Totally short staffed I felt for her.

Unos peces llamados truchas (¿?) mientras los lugareños jugaban a las cartas

No nos alojamos, sino que comimos. Afuera ponía que entre los platos del menú del día había trucha (en singular). Una vez sentados, al decirme la camarera los platos del menú, no mencionó la trucha. Se lo comenté, rectificó y dijo que sí había. Pero lo que me trajo fue lo que se ve en la foto, 4 pececillos (¿truchas?) cuyo tamaño es claramente inferior al mínimo que establece la Xunta de Galicia para dicho pescado. Me quejé y me lo cambió por un filete. Por otra parte, no hay comedor, las mesas en las que sirven las comidas son las del bar. En nuestro caso coincidimos con otra gente comiendo y también con los lugareños jugando a las cartas.

Non venite qui

NON ESISTE in un albergue che accoglie pellegrini che la sera, sotto le camere, venga effettuato il Karaoke nel bar/ristorante dell'albegue. La doccia era fredda già nel primo pomeriggio perché "ci siamo dimenticati di accendere la caldaia" . C'è un solo bagno per 18 letti. Mai più....
