Recommended in center san sebastian

Simple, incredibly clean and friendly welcome from host and ladies. In the middle of all the action, but with windows closed little trouble. On a day of 31 degrees without air conditioning warm but comfortable. Especially considering the competitive price highly recommended.

Good location, clean shared facilities

The pension is in a good location in the old town. It is a very busy area so expect it to be noisy. The double glazing shut out the noise and there was a fan in the room which kept it cool. The decor is basic and there are a few scratches some wear and tear but the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the shared facilities were still quite private as the two shower cubicles were in small rooms of their own with doors that could be locked.

Fantastic location, budget accommodation and spotlessly clean.

We rented two rooms for a family stay and the owner made sure they were next to each other. Budget,functional accommodation but perfectly comfortable and the shared bathroom was spotless and cleaned several times a day.
This is a very central location with many bars and shops below in the narrow street so the noise from the city life does boom and echo but the windows are double glazed and with them shut at night sleep was undisturbed.
When we arrived there was no one in the pension and the door was locked but a quick call to the number on the reservation summoned one of the owners so no problem. For our second night the owner offered to move us to a bigger room that was now free but we declined as we were perfectly happy with our original one. All in all I enjoyed staying here and felt like I had landed right in the middle of Donostia city life to absorb all its sounds and flavors. If you don't want anything fancy then this accommodation is highly recommended.

Noisy but comfortable

Hosts do not speak English but are very helpful and always around. The host walked us to the best pizza restaurant in town and the lady ironed my Fiancè's shirt for him. They also gave us towels to shower after we had checked out. Rooms are serviced daily with fresh towels. The shared bathroom is very clean. The pension is in the perfect location right in the Old Town. The accommodation is very noisy due to its small size and currently there is construction (no fault of the owners) literally in front of the rooms so the windows cannot be opened. Construction begins at 7 and is finished by 6pm. Wifi is serviceable but not excellent. I would recommend this as a budget stay.

A good "bolt hole" for San Sebastian

If you do not wish to spend to much on your accommodation, as you will be out all the time La Marinera will suit. Yes you do have a shared bathroom facility however it is spotless and well maintained. There does not appear to be any waiting when you have go and do whatever is necessary. It is well situated in the old quarter of San Sebastian with numerous bars and restaurants within " falling down" distance. We even met our concierge/housekeeper et all in the lovely establishment next door on one particular evening. although she had no english [which is fair enough as you are in Spain] we managed with our smattering of Spanish to get by. It is about 1-2 minutes from the beach and promenade.
