Great hotel. Very friendly staff and wonderful amenities. Spa was very well priced and was relaxing. Will definitely return when I’m in Bilbao.

Great base for Bilbao exploration

Very nice hotel in central location. Rooms good size and spec - very clean. Loved totally black out rooms
Hotel was busy but not deserved by noise and location meant lots of small bars and cafes nearby but in a location without road noise.
Staff at desk extremely helpful with advice. Bar nice for cocktail at start of evening. Didn’t eat in hotel at all but lots of places nearby. Approx 20 min walk to old town, 15 to Guggenheim and 10 to football stadium.
Enjoyed a relax by the rooftop pool- it’s very small more for cool down than swim- comfy loungers though.

Spa treatment was excellent but prob need to book ahead of definitely want one.

A three stars hotel at the price of a 4 stars hotel

Yes ok good location and parking if you need it is a plus, but rooms are very small for the price you pay, pool is the size of my bedroom at home with very limited lounging space such that if a family of 4 gets there before you that's it for the pool, spa you pay extra, gym very small, breakfast you have to pay for, very disappointing that they charge so much but delivering very little for the cuztomer, definetely way overpriced

Everything perfect!

My stay at the Hotel Catalonia in Bilbao was very pleasant. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and is very well located for visiting the city.
I want to make a special mention of Oswaldo, from the bar, who was always very attentive, kind, and helpful throughout our entire stay. He made sure that everything was okay and always served us with a smile and great kindness. Without a doubt, his treatment made our experience at the hotel even better!

Nice hotel… but not close to anything.

This was a nice hotel but the location was not near anything. That said the transport in Bilbao is excellent! We went to the tourist office and got a 48 hour BB card for 15 euro and could hop on and off the buses, metro and light rail. It also included the funicular (which is normally $6 euro without the BB card) so was great value. The hotel itself I was clean and the bathroom was well appointed. Staff are efficient but not friendly. We found 2 great places nearby….. a cafe breakfast place called Swansea that was delicious for toast and coffee…. And Cork a pintxos restaurant we loved. All the food here is delicious. Next time though we would stay closer to Abando.
