Best location in Tossa de mar which is the most beautiful place on the costa brava. Direct beach access, good food, great rooms.

The hotel is in an amazing location. The pool and sunbathing deck have a view of the rocky beach on one side and the town and castle on the other. The family rooms are incredible and the photos do not do the hotel or rooms justice. We found out the family suites are being renovated and ours was one of the best rooms we’ve ever staid in. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

What a fantastic hotel. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Immaculate room, great location and wonderful views. Would definitely go back

Excellent location next to the beach and a away from town center’s noises. Very friendly staff and good breakfast with views. The only downside was lack of space in parking carage but parking on the street was no problem.

It's A Kind Of Magic
Bienvenidos a Realismo Mágico del Gran Hotel Reymar! Where nothing is quite as it seems.
La Llegada - it looked like a nice area just in front of the hotel to drop the wife and cases off. But no! Behold Señor Sarcasmo from the concierge team and the rythmic wagging of his head and finger, barking at us - rudely in my opinion - to move the car a mere three feet forward.
El Aparcamiento - a well sized car park (I mean it's a bit tight and tricky but for the Costa Brava it was actually decent) and it must be magic, costing a whopping EUR 22 cost per night.
La Habitación - not only did it look nice, it also was beautifully air conditioned. But look out of the window and the magic really disappears. We paid for a sea view, I would have thought we'd be higher than the first floor. It was more of a pool view! Yes you can just about see the sea (and yes I know it's over there between the land and the sky) but I expected more.
El Baño - looks great but for the cold morning shower (to be fair that 'only' happened one of the three days). But is this Aracataca or Barranquilla!? Waka waka! And behold the soap dispenser that barely dispenses any soap, that the cleaners never refilled. Que asco!!
Las Comodidades - looks like a good sized pool and spa but the spa was very difficult to reserve, unless you are a Spanish Alan Turing.
Magia Extra - the room key that magically stops working when put into the slightest contact with a mobile phone. The "Gran" hotel with one, slow, hot lift. At least install a close door button! An OK if repetitive breakfast devoid of waffles and pancakes. A cute fridge absent of a little key to open it, Home Alone style (I think we can forgive that though).
Ok so if you made it this far you'd probably think I'm being a little harsh. And you'd be right. It is a nice place with mostly friendly staff, especially those on reception. I respect small local businesses but when you read on you might realise why I stopped ignoring the little things. Also, consider this was our honeymoon. I didn't broadcast it to them because I don't need free gifts and things. I just expect to always be treated well. Also consider it was an expensive 4 star hotel, I'm fussy and I love writing long reviews.
So let's proceed with the incident of incidents. My wife was taking a video from our balcony of the banal firework display for Catalonia's welcome to Summer (aka 'welcome to the season of mosquitos and sweating') celebrations while I watched a banal England side labour against Ghana. Suddenly, a smoky, chalky debris flew hard into her head, causing a bump, pain and distress. We told reception and someone dressed up like an extra on A Maguluf Christmas Carol shows up telling us to speak to the director in the morning and if we needed any medical attention to absolutely let them know. Fine so far!
So in the morning we ask for the director and who appears? Señorio Maguluf! He's apparently the hotel manager and as I know all too well having been stuck as a manager for freaking 12 years, a manager is not a director. Anyway, Maguluf basically said it could have come from any hotel (we literally have video evidence it was theirs) and that they have a licence (surely that's even worse!) and he offered nothing. I felt they were more interested in covering themselves and not pestering their precious director than maybe giving the girl a Tinto de Verano or a quick spa for goodwill. I don't think it was a good attitude at all and their hotel wasn't good enough to make up for accidentally - but literally - shooting firework debris at her head.

Thanks for your info. Of course, we will take it into account in order to do our best and improve, but your rude maners and behaviour as well as your way to request free stay "for no speaking badly about us" is something we cannot allow. We wish you had a good trip back home. Best regards,
