Quality hotel.
Quiet location just out of the main busy areas. Very good service and we had lovely big rooms overlooking the street. Staff organised a lunch booking at a restaurant we wanted to try, which was much appreciated. Didn’t try the breakfast. Not far away is Taverna La Samorra which was fantastic for a long lunch. Make sure you find the incredible ‘refugios’ (air raid shelters) that remain from the civil war - very moving to see. Russafa area over on the other side of the town hall is very cool and grungy!

Definitely not 4 star
Visited in July for 3 nights with my husband. I researched many hotels in this area and I was hesitant in booking this hotel because of mixed reviews but as it was in a great location I took a chance. I upgraded my room to a superior room overlooking the palace as recommended by previous travellers.
We arrived at 11am and were relieved when told our room was ready so could check in early. We were on the 3rd floor, upon entering the room I was instantly disappointed. They are really clever when showing photos on the website as the reality was very different. The room was very small, tiny double bed. Wallpaper peeling off the wall, stains all up the walls. Filthy a/c unit. Broken bin, very dated bathroom. Floor was filthy and hadn’t been swept. Overall definitely not a 4 star, more like a 2 star!!!
As for the view of the palace, yes when you opened the balcony door you could see it but it was obscured by plastic sheeting and a ton of scaffolding. We paid £80 to upgrade the room for a palace view and not ever were we informed of the work that was being carried out. 2 mornings at 8.30am we were woken up to drilling from work being carried out, was so loud. Upon checkout we were not even asked did we have a nice stay. When I mentioned the palace view and the noise they didn’t even acknowledge it, pretended like they didn’t hear me. Whilst the hotel is in a great location I would never go back, it was so dirty

They are excessively strict about check in which is 4 pm and check out times

Make sure you request a double bed !!
While the hotel is in a great location, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. We arrived early and appreciated that staff allowed us to leave our luggage, as our room wasn’t ready until 4pm.
When we finally checked in, we found that our “superior room with balcony overlooking the palace” had twin beds pushed together rather than a proper queen/king bed. When I raised this, I was told this was standard unless a specific request had been made, which was very disappointing and not clearly communicated at booking. This was ridiculous. I’ve never heard such nonsense. We were also told the hotel was fully booked and a change might only be possible the following day. The following day we got moved to the first floor, with a proper queen sized bed but I don’t quite understand why the long slim pillows that they use!!
The room itself was quite basic and lacked thoughtful touches. In the bathroom, there was only one hook for towels I couldn’t manage to keep my towel on the hook, meaning they often ended up on the floor, with nowhere suitable to hang damp ones. The hairdryer being fixed in the bathroom was also inconvenient, as it made it difficult for more than one person to get ready at the same time. There are only 2 sachets of coffee and tea and 2 milk cartons supplied and no proper spoon which meant the next morning I had to drink black tea as I’d had a cup of coffee the previous evening as I gave my partner the remaining coffee and milk.
Staff were generally polite but not particularly welcoming, and the overall service felt very average. We tried breakfast once, but didn’t feel it was worth returning for.
Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially as this was our first trip to Valencia together. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return or recommend this hotel to any friends.

Because we have 3 types of bed and not all the reservations want the same. We need to know the type of bed because when you make the reservation because we need time to organise and allocate what each customer wants.
About the hairdryer and the amenities, You didn’t told at the reception that you needed another hairdryer or more coffee; coffee is replenished every day during the daily cleaning, but if you’d mentioned it at reception, we'd have provided you with more.
We’re sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay and that you’ve been left with that impression of the hotel.
