TUI SUNEO Estival Park. Don’t bother!
I’ll start with the only real positive. The animation team were brilliant! Great with the kids, really friendly with the adults and somehow managed to keep smiling despite having to deal with some extremely difficult kids and adults during our stay. Some of the behaviour they had to put up with was shocking!
Unfortunately, that’s about where the positives end.
The food was terrible! Cold, undercooked, overcooked, tasteless and quite often just inedible. We ended up eating out just to get a decent meal. Not really what you expect when you’ve paid for an all inclusive holiday!
The rooms weren’t much better. When we arrived our child’s bed hadn’t even been made up. We asked three separate times before it was finally sorted! Then during the holiday I had to ask another two times for the exact same bed to be made because they’d forgotten again.
The rooms were never properly cleaned either. It basically consisted of the beds being made, and even that was done poorly most of the time.
Our duplex room was ridiculously noisy. There’s a bus stop directly outside, which was great! ♂️ But even better than that was listening to the toilets from the rooms above being flushed throughout the night because the drainage pipes run right next to the beds!
The pool was filthy. I worked as a lifeguard and leisure centre manager in a past life, so it wasn’t difficult to see that something wasn’t right with how the pool was being maintained and treated. Slides were regularly closed and things just didn’t seem to get repaired.
I also saw behaviour from some of the lifeguards towards young female guests that I thought was completely inappropriate. Interestingly, their behaviour seemed to change pretty quickly when their supervisor appeared for half an hour in the late afternoon. Something the hotel management should definitely be looking into.
Then there’s the constant smell of drains and sewage around the resort, including around the dining hall! Exactly what you want when you’re trying to eat!
And finally, some of the guests should genuinely be ashamed of themselves. The way some adults and children behaved was appalling. Obviously the hotel can’t control everything people do, but it certainly didn’t help.
I guess you get what you pay for! We weren’t expecting luxury, but we did expect a basic 4 star standard and this definitely isn’t it.
Wouldn’t return and certainly wouldn’t recommend it.
