Exceptional.

Very comfortable, the service very pleasant, beautiful views, a quiet place to relax with the comforts of a home, the breakfast varied and of exceptional quality. The room spacious and well equipped.
Spacious rooms to disconnect as you like.
Beautiful, a wonder. We will return.

Super recommended!

Highly recommended hotel, the room with a terrace that we booked was very nice with views of the Gorbeia, we did an hour of outdoor spa, fantastic.
The owners are very attentive and helpful, from the moment we enter the door they are looking out for us. Thank you for everything and I'm sure we'll be back soon!

We booked this hotel based on the photo and price. it was the most expensive hotel in the region. Arriving at check-in, we were surprised. The first thing that struck us was the disgusting smell at the reception, when we entered the room, there was also a disgusting smell from the floors and walls, as the materials and furniture's old. Jacuzzi not working, dirty water. All that was left of this place was a beautiful view. The owners must change the prices at a minimum and, in order to continue to receive guests, must restore order.
This is disrespectful to guests.
We believed the photo and were extremely disappointed.

Excellent hotel in Basque Country mountains

We stayed 3 nights at the Ellauri Hotel and ate there every evening.
It is a small, clean, modern, peaceful and welcoming hotel. The food is excellent - much better than anything we got in Bilbao or Donostia. The owners accommodated our vegetarianism without any difficulty.
We were drawn to the area largely so we could go hiking.
In early March the temperature was good for walking - in the mid-teens. There was a bit of snow forecast for the hills on the day we left.
The hotel is situated in the mountains in a hamlet, within walking distance of walking trails.
We managed without a car - the village is within walking distance but there were some roadworks that meant walking on the main road, but they are probably already finished so the alternative smaller road might be open again.
Kepi picked us up from Bilbao airport for a small fee. It would be easy to do by bus but we arrived on a Sunday and went for the easy option. We got the bus back to Bilbao - it cost only 2.60 euro each and the bus is frequent and modern.
The mountains and forests are very nice for walking. We didn’t see any other hikers. Some of the trails were very muddy because of forestry work - walking boots are advisable.
Staying here was the highlight of our holiday in the Basque Country.

Amazing views and hospitality

We stayed three nights at Ellauri at the end of our trip to the Basque Country. The rooms are spacious and we enjoyed evenings overlooking the beautiful views from our balcony. The owners, Kepa and Randa, were so thoughtful and gave us great recommendations for hikes and area attractions. They even brought a plate of homemade chirizo to our room upon our arrival! Dinners at the hotel's restaurant are amazing and some of the best food of our two week vacation.
