Charming and cozy

Very cute and cozy establishment. The staff is very friendly and the food was excellent. The rooms are nice and clean. Right out of our window we could see the owls that people come from all over the world to see that live in this little charming town. The location is right next to the town museum where you can see real mammoth remains that were found here. Overall very good experience, would recommend.

Kitschy but Comfy in Kikinda

Nice building in a nice, central location. The rooms are not modern, but are fine. The air conditioning works well. The bathroom is nice. Yes, the water smells, but that is true of all of Kikinda. Bottles of water are provided free of charge. The wifi was weak in my room (112). The art on the walls is excessively kitsch, including a painting of a woman's feet. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The best part of the experience, in my opinion, was the breakfast. I received a "full English" and a cup of Turkish coffee, and it was quite good. The receptionist and the waiter speak English. I had to park 500 meters away (next to a playground) and pay for parking via sms.

Hotel and restaurant with good service.

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel.Interior typic middle of last century, very fine renovated.Room small but fine, Reception working morning, afternoon managed by Bar staff in restaurant.personel very friendly, helping with parking fees.Restaurant has terase, grill, big TV, but missing zone for no smokers.Local draft beer available(good one). Card payment possible. Hotel don´t have parking. Breakfast simple, local and continental style.

Dirty water

The hotel has a charming dining room and individually furnished rooms.
So far so good.
Unfortunately, the water in the bathroom was brown and had a really bad smell.
Hopefully, no guest uses it for brushing the teeth....
Sorry, but this is a “no go”!
The breakfast was OK, the price also.
Not evaluated here, but worth an additional remark: Dining here earns a recommendation.

Owl watching in Kikinda

We travelled here purely to see the birds in the town and surrounding countryside.
The hotel is quite basic but it's clean and warm. The public areas are very smoky but the bedroom was smoke-free which is a relief.
The bed was firm and had a rather nasty plastic under-sheet but the bedding was clean.
The bathroom was very basic with wall mounted dispensers for hand-wash and a piece of carpet in the hand held shower, presumably to stop you from slipping.
The worst thing about it is the water, which is common to the whole area so nothing can be done about it. It's oily and yellow and smells of sulphur and we found it really unpleasant. You can buy bottled water to drink but you have to shower and wash your hands in the tap water and it leaves a greasy residue which was very nasty.
Reception staff were not particularly welcoming or friendly but the maid and waiting staff were, which sort of made up for it.
The view out of the bedroom window included trees in which the owls roost, which made up for all the hotel's shortcomings. And the people in the town were unfailing friendly and welcoming which also made the trip very enjoyable.
