A wonderful stay in the heart of Colombo
We stayed at Granbell Hotel Colombo for two nights as I had a meeting and a wedding to attend on both days, and we were looking for a centrally located hotel that would make it easy for us to get in and out of the city. Since we had not stayed at Granbell before, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try it.
From the very beginning, the experience was excellent. I contacted Roshain prior to our stay, and he was extremely helpful, prompt, and professional. He assisted us with a very good rate and also helped with our request for a late checkout, as my meeting was finishing late on the day of departure. The hotel kindly obliged, which made a big difference to our plans.
When my wife and I checked in, we were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade. The room itself was immaculate, with excellent amenities and a very sophisticated bathroom, including Japanese toilets. The view from both the balcony and the bathroom was simply breathtaking.
Room service was also very good. Although we did not get a chance to experience all the facilities, we did use the pool and the rooftop bar, and once again, the views were stunning.
A very special touch was the personal welcome message from the General Manager, along with a souvenir. This was completely unexpected and made us feel truly special. From start to finish, we felt pampered like royalty.
The car park is also fairly spacious, with separate lifts, which is very convenient.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely return. We cannot recommend Granbell Hotel Colombo enough.

So-so Experience
Granbell Hotel Colombo offers a mixed experience overall. While the rooms feel a bit dated and the shower design leaves much to be desired—resulting in a wet and sticky bathroom floor—the standout feature of this hotel is the Minori Japanese Restaurant. The food there is excellent, complemented by a friendly and professional staff like Malshan that enhances the dining experience. The breakfast spread could use improvement, but if you're looking for a quality meal, Minori is worth the visit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Stay at Granbell Hotel Colombo!
We recently stayed at the Granbell Hotel Colombo for 8 nights. I am a travel agent from Australia and also brought a group of 28 family and friends with me for a wedding, and overall we had an absolutely amazing experience.
The hotel is beautiful, modern, extremely clean and kept in fantastic condition. The rooms were comfortable, the food was great, and we loved the pool and gym areas. The rooftop pool and views are definitely a highlight! The DJ and live band were amazing bought all the guests together. Atmosphere is great up there, we met so many different people from so many different countries sitting at the bar.
A very special thank you needs to go to Chamal and Ijas, who were absolutely amazing throughout our stay. Their hospitality, friendliness and willingness to help with anything at any time was honestly above and beyond.
Travelling with a group of 28 can come with lots of little things that need sorting out, and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Whether someone’s room card wasn’t working, we needed an ironing board, had a question or needed assistance, they were always there and happy to help.
What impressed me the most was that when some of our older travellers chose to stay back at the hotel instead of joining us on tours, Chamal and Ijas would check in on them and make sure they were okay while I was out with the rest of the group. As the person organising the group, knowing they were being looked after gave me such peace of mind and meant so much to me. ❤️
They genuinely went above and beyond for our entire group and are a real credit to the Granbell Hotel.
Other than that, we had a fantastic stay and I would absolutely recommend Granbell Hotel Colombo. Thank you to all the staff for looking after our group so well, and an extra special thank you again to Chamal and Ijas for everything you did for us. Your kindness and hospitality certainly didn’t go unnoticed.

Best in Colombo city.
Excellent. Very client focused hospitality entity. All staff from the bellboys to the GM are exceptional since they all sing to the same hymn sheet. F&B manager Supun Alutharachchi , Viraj ,Minority supervisor Kelum and spa/ Gym staff all raise the bar together in standards. Special mention to room service guy Ranmal for all his meticulous upkeep of our room on the 23 Rd floor. You guys are far superior to most of your European counterparts. Hats off Granbell.!!
