Great place! (lived for a month)

Perfect place! We lived here for a month, a chic room with a modern renovation, very nice hosts, Dylan and the guys are super friendly and help resolve all issues. We lived on the third floor, overlooking the jungle, very beautiful. Good air conditioning. Large comfortable bed, there is a refrigerator in the room! And a kettle. New shower, toilet. Everything is quite stylish. There is even a mirror with a shelf. There is a desk and a chair. You can also order lunch and dinner at the establishment on the ground floor - our favorite is the chicken grill with delicious salad and fries. And also delicious juices - mango, mix and coconut juice. Of the minuses: it is close to the railway and it makes noise 6-8 times a day. And close to the Trucks club, you can also hear the bass. The internet is still weak, but this is a common problem in Sri.

Last minute cancellation horror

This may be a good place which is why we booked it in the first place, but we received a last minute cancellation horror just 2 days before our check in on Jan 1st. We were lucky to find an alternate accommodation ourselves during the peak holiday season. No alternative was provided by the property. They straight up cancelled our 3 rooms citing electrical issues with their rooms. So can't trust this property or recommend to anyone.

A tranquil, happy spot

Crystal Palace was my home for three weeks while I attended Surf School Sri Lanka, and I couldn’t have been happier. What made me enjoy Crystal Palace so much was that Mahesh and his family made me feel very welcome (their house is on the premises), and Mahesh is committed to making sure you have what you need for an enjoyable stay, including having a generator, which was really needed during the daily power outages. My room in the back, without a balcony, was open, airy, and clean (note that there aren’t daily cleanings, but you can request a room clean and linen change), and the bathroom is very modern with an awesome shower. Because I was surfing most mornings I missed the official hours for breakfast, but Sandeepa, the young helper, would save me a fruit plate (the best I had in Sri Lanka) and make me an omelet with toast or roti when I got back around lunchtime.
Crystal Palace isn’t right on the water, but it’s an easy and quick walk to Kabalana Beach and the main (and very busy) road. It doesn’t have a pool or hammocks but the grounds are very peaceful. It would have been nice to have a balcony to chill on, but staying at the back made it quieter and I had a view of the tropical flora. I’d definitely stay here again.

Amazing place

Stayed at Crystal Palace for 3 weeks. Each morning there is an excellent breakfast! The rooms are great, bed is very comfortable. The shower is one of the best in Sri Lanka, good water pressure and heat. WiFi is great. The guys running the place are the best.

Our favourite

Wonderful place to relax. We stayed for 1 week but came back later for 2 more weeks. The family is so nice and cute and the garden is beutiful and peaceful. great breakfast , different every day. We had a familyroom upstairs. Simple but big area with livingroom, balcony and own bathroom.
