A Relaxing Stay by the Lake

We had a lovely stay at Grand Tamarind Lake. It’s a beautiful hotel by the lake, conveniently located close to Kataragama town, making it a great place to relax after a day out.
The staff were very friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our stay. The buffet selection was small, but the food was absolutely delicious. The rooms are big and spacious, offering plenty of comfort.
The only area for improvement would be the mattress, which felt quite uncomfortable—especially after a long day of walking when a good night’s sleep is much needed.
All in all, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely come back again.

Best Hotel with friendliest staff

I’ve been 3 times to this hotel for April Holidays and the Avurudu Event is held every year, this time I came with my two elder brothers and my younger sister and younger brother, we had a lot of great time and specially we came to relax. The staff is very nice and friendly and the food is very tasty and they give us a good service. My lovely credits, specially to Mrs.Dammika and Miss Poojani and her beloved staff friends, the staff boys, the security guards and all in the hotel.I spend whole time in the pool and they got a big playground. One thing I forgot to tell, we played many games in the avurudu event and Mr. Gamini helped a lot to Mrs. Dammika and Us with joy. You guys definitely try this!

perfect blend of great food, excellent service, and a beautiful location

We had a wonderful family experience at Grand Tammarind Lake! Traveling with my wife and two kids, we were really looking forward to a relaxing getaway—and this place delivered on every front.
The food was absolutely fantastic. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, with a great variety that kept both adults and kids happy. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the kitchen here.
What truly stood out was the service. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. A special mention to Mr. Shalaka, whose leadership really shines through—his professionalism and genuine hospitality made our stay even more memorable.
The setting is just stunning. The peaceful lake view creates the perfect atmosphere to unwind and enjoy quality time as a family.
Overall, a perfect blend of great food, excellent service, and a beautiful location. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!
