Peaceful haven, friendly staff who really welcomed my toddler and made us feel at home

I travelled here with my toddler for the first 2 nights of our time in Sri Lanka, and the two of us were so warmly welcomed. The staff were incredibly friendly and I must make special mention of Kumar who saw my toddler crying and with my permission picked him up and took him for a little walk in the garden to show him around. After that my little one was so happy whenever he saw Kumar, and held his hand to walk to our table every time we came down for a meal. The pool is beautiful, and the food is absolutely outstanding. I'm not great with spicy food so had the western alternatives - chicken and mash one night, grilled fish and mash another and delicious desserts. Breakfast was similarly excellent. Really well located for coming from the airport, and also for a day trip to Negombo Lagoon if spending more than one night. Thank you for such a beautiful welcome to Sri Lanka, and for making my birthday trip so special.

Close to the airport, a peaceful place away from the hustle and bustle, with a fantastic welcome, rooms nicely decorated in a post-colonial style, the quality of the meals is also very good

Calm and peaceful!

We spent a night here on arrival in Sri Lanka. A very calm and peaceful beginning to a busy tour. Pool was lovely, curries delicious and service excellent- room spacious and very much enjoyed our stay. would highly recommend

A perfect place to stay. Cannot be faulted

We recently stayed at Notary's House after our 11 hour flight to Sri Lanka. We stayed for one night. The Place is relaxed, serene and comforting. It is so relaxed we wished that we had booked for a longer stay. It is the perfect place to recuperate after a long flight. The staff were always on hand and the food was fantastic. The property overlooks a lake which attracts lots of birds and wildlife. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Thank you for a great stay. Do not hesitate to book this hotel. The website does not do it justice.

The Notary's House

Great position as only 45mins from Columbo airport. Very welcoming and helpful staff set in beautiful grounds overlooking the lake in a peaceful atmosphere. Rooms were very nice, spacious very clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The food was excellent.we would definitely come back here again and would recommend this hotel . Excellent value.
