Relaxed Stay in an older Grand Hotel

The Auslink Hotel has the charm of an old grand hotel – elegant, a bit aged, but full of atmosphere. Our Superior Room was huge, with a breathtaking view. Manager Trigan is exceptionally attentive, always helpful, and personally makes sure that nothing is missing – from the meals to arranging parking in the underground garage. And it’s not just him – every single member of the staff genuinely wants guests to have a wonderful stay. Everything is clean, and the few signs of age simply add to the hotel’s character. The bed with its canopy and mosquito net is wonderful, and the shower is surprisingly modern – strong water pressure and perfect temperature control. The food is excellent, flavorful, and adjusted to the European palate, though you can ask for it spicier if you prefer. A new building section is currently under construction and will open in 2026 – but even now, this hotel is a truly special place full of charm.

Absolute Value for Money

A Quiet and Enjoyable Stay in Walapane
We were looking for an unexplored destination and came across this simple yet charming hotel, offering a peaceful getaway. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, equipped with AC, Satellite TV, a Mini Refrigerator, Tea/Coffee facility, well equipped Gymnasium, Swimming Pool and hot water, providing all the essentials for a relaxing stay.
One of the highlights was the authentic Sri Lankan food. We truly enjoyed the array of local dishes that offered a true taste of the region. The staff were friendly and always wore a smile, eager to assist. While they were wonderful, a bit more on-the-job training would help enhance the service further.
It was also great to see the General Manager actively engaging with guests, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort. We felt well looked after throughout our stay.
A big surprise was the beautiful Golumale Water Stream, a pristine and serene spot for a bath, which made for a truly special experience. We also learned about other exciting places to explore in the area, like Mini World's End and some ancient Viharayas. We definitely need more time to explore these, and we look forward to returning to Walapane soon.
There were a few issues to note, such as ongoing construction for room and facility expansions. While understandable, this was a bit disruptive at times and should be managed in a way that minimizes guest disturbance.
Overall, it was a memorable stay, and we wish the management and team the best of luck with their expansion. We'll be back!

Stop in Walapane

Mandatory stop!! Fantastic food and amazing service, not to mention views from the terrace.
Sam (the general manager) and his whole team made us feel like we were at home and gave us perfect service.
From the terrace you can see the whole mountain, where the plantations mix with the jungle and end up in the lakes.
Stop that no one can miss who comes to Sri Lanka.

Convenient Place

We stayed two nights from 15 to 17 of April 2024 at Auslink hotel at Walapane town. It can be located just when you turn to Nildandahinna road from Walapane town. We stayed in a large room which can be accommodated by four people easily. Room and bath is clean. The manager is a very humble person and always tried to serve us at his best. Food was tasty. There is a separate area for dining and also you can dine inside your room too. There is a swimming pool. But it is somewhat far from the room.
This is the best option to stay when you are going to visit surrounding places like Golumale, Blue Marble and several waterfalls.

Nice & Budget Place

Lovely place to stay. The best place in the aria. Located in the middle of Walapane. They don’t offer full or half board service. But you can order and get food for good prices and they are tasty. Even that will have a restaurant and bakery. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Specially washroom is clean. There are budget rooms as well as double & family rooms. Staff are very friendly. Starting from the manager to the housekeepers. They will provide 4wd vehicle to visit “Kurundu Oya Ella". Highly recommend place.
