Great Transit Hotel

I stayed at this hotel in March 2015 when I cycled the complete coastline of the island, ,and in January 2016 when I did a self drive of the island I have to say part of the reason I went back was for the food, absolutely lush, The hotel is under new management, still great food and rooms have improved. It is a central hotel ,very easy to find, check in any time, office always manned .parking available..Rooms are large and very clean,new beds with very ornate carved headboards, linen spotless,monogram towels, wardrobe and desk,a/c and tv and wifi. Bathroom of good standard with hot water and toiletries.Each floor has balconies at the end of corridors .It has a few flights of stairs to the rooms and restaurant but there are plenty of willing and helpful staff around either to carry your bags or show you the way. Large restaurant with extensive menu, from soups ,chop suey,rice and noodles curries and fresh salads all made to order.Breakfast available in room or restaurant.Brilliant location ,very central and multi cultural for sightseeing or shopping, Walking distance of Cargill's ,westerners supermarket haven.I'm looking forward to returning later in the year.

I was underwhelmed with this hotel and thought value for money was much not as good as other hotels I stayed at in Sri Lanka. Located in the central city area of Trinco, however there is not really much to neither see or do in this area. Suggest you instead look for a hotel on the beach and take a tuk-tuk if you want yo experience the city.
The room was spacious, had AC, but other than that rather basically equipped. I had high hopes for a Sri Lankan breakfast, because staff asked me questions about the preparation, but ended up with boring toasts.Friendly and attentive staff, nevertheless.

Excellent central location for exploring central Trincolomee. Well-managed and friendly, accommodating staff. Make sure to request a room with hot water and AC as not all rooms are the same. Of note, the hotel is currently in the process of adding another floor. Once completed, there will be some nice city views from the top floor rooms.

Awful

Trinco is a very expensive place. Dont go unless you are looking for beach and relax. If you finally go, book in advance and near uppali beach. We didnt do It so we had to book anything and this hotel was free. Location is not bad nor good, in the city Centre at ealking distance from the bus station, where we arrive. Staff is not helpful and the owner was constantly asking about payment, even considering we were staying 2 nights. Rooms are ok, but eh hotel is dark and seems like a horror story location. We got Simeone knocking heavily on our door one night at 00 and heavy noises by someone seeming very drunk and aggressive. No one realiz ed and no one helped of course. Best of this place is that is very near to a restaurant called New Parrot
