Simply great. I wish I was still there.
Very modern and spacious apartments. The owner/host is incredible. We felt like home on the first day. On request they arranged transfers to and from the airport. Mr. Mathurin took great care of us and made us feel welcome and safe. It was like visiting a dear friend. The city is about a 15 minute walk from the apartment. And convenience shops are just across the street. When we go back to Suriname we will definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great time !

Feels like home!
During our two week stay in Suriname (part work/part holiday) we rented this beautiful appartment just outside the old city centre (5 min taxi ride). The appartments are spacious and comfortable: you have your own living room with kitchen, bathroom and a large bedroom. Airconditioned. Very nicely furnished.
The appartments have a great porch, where you can enjoy your morning coffee or an evening beer. The appartments are situated near two ATM's and a supermarket (2 minutes walk).
Mr. Mathurin, the lively and enthousiastic owner, gave us lots of useful advice and arranged whatever we needed. From taxi's to travelagents. Every time we came back from a trip he made us feel like coming home. Not intrusive, very relaxed.
In the evening, if you're tired, you can have an enjoyable meal in the restaurant in front of the appartments. There's a great roti-place next door, for your lunch.
The appartments are very reasonable priced. Next time we will stay here again. No doubt about

Super choice in Paramaribo!
We spent a great week at Mathurin apartments and I summarize below the things we liked about the place:
Self-catering option
We did not want to go out for every meal and this option gave us a chance to prepare some of our meals. The apartment was very well equipped for this. There was a very good supermarket just within 3 minutes of walking distance, which made it very convenient. There was also an Asian-fusion restaurant downstairs (but not a part of the apartment complex) that gave another option to grab something last minute.
Comfort
The apartment was spacious, very comfortable, spotlessly clean, had all amenities and everything worked with no problem whatsoever. Free wi-fi on the premises was very reliable. Room service was available every day. There was a laundry facility on the premises as well. The owner had a plan to add a swimming pool to the complex, which surely add to the already good quality of this living set up.
Location:
The apartment complex was in a good location. We could walk to the waterfront for morning exercise, walk to several restaurants & shopping areas easily. Although it was on a busy street, our apartment was facing greenery and we heard no traffic or any noise.
Very nice owner:
Renault, the owner aimed to make his clients feel at home; when we arrived the refrigerator was full of provisions so that we did not have to worry about going shopping right away. He helped us many ways; gave tips on good restaurants, shopping areas, called taxis for us, printed our documents and was always there for us.
Good price:
We thought the price for such a good deal was extremely fair.
Suggestion:
If we suggest anything for improvement, it would be the size of the bed. It would be good to have one or two apartments with a bigger-sized bed for couples.
All in all, we loved our stay here and would most certainly come back here if we were to return to Paramaribo someday. We enthusiastically recommend this apartment complex to visitors who plan to stay in Paramaribo for a while.

Amazing place in Paramaribo
I love this apartment. The area is close to downtown (5-8mins driving), you can walk to downtown area if you want. Lots of natural light. The owner is amazing. He had bread, butter, nutella & jam and water, beer & soda in the fridge for me for free. He is available to answer all questions, he even drove me to the place for changing money. The room is excellent. I will stay here again.

Superb homebase in Paramaribo!!
We booked Mathurin apartments through booking.com, looking to have a quiet yet central homebase while we visited various locations in Paramaribo. Renault, the owner, made sure that it indeed felt like a home away from home and that we looked forward to our return trips to Paramaribo throughout the month. Renault has thought through his properties well - ensuring that they are spaced out well for privacy and quiet but also with open spaces with tables outdoors for meeting others. The apartments are new, very clean, with great Wifi and A/C, and equipped kitchen and living space for cooking and relaxing. There is currently no pool but that will change soon in the coming months with construction for the pool and outdoor terrace/bar underway- this will only step up the property a notch further. The apartments are centrally located - you can walk to the centre in 15-20 mins or take a taxi (TourtonneTaxi) in under 10 minutes for 7-8 SRD. There's a huge supermarket across the street (and smaller Chinese supermarkets in the vicinity) and a restaurant out front in case you don't want to venture to the city for food. The street is safe and we had no problems with the neighbourhood, we enjoyed that it was quiet in the evening and lively during the day (a market on Sundays). Our favourite part of the property was Renault and his mentality - he really is keen on you enjoying your time in Suriname, whether it's for business and work, and really goes out of his way to facilitate this for you - he's very knowledgable, friendly, and accommodating. Staying here was the most welcoming place we encountered in Suriname - We can't wait to visit again and we highly recommend this property!!
