Great City But Disappointing Hotel
The issues we experienced however sadly outweighed the good and I have listed these below.
1. Firstly, in the room we had a lamp where the inner cores of the cable were exposed where they entered the plug. I am unsure of electrical standards in Sweden but in the UK this is considered dangerous and would not pass a safety check.
2. The two fluorescent bulbs on either side of the bathroom mirror were both damaged but the left hand one didn’t work and had a very large crack.
3. My last issue relates to the complete lack of a bar and restaurant for food and drinks which we expected to be able to use in the evening. Our reason for this was that on the Booking.com website which we used to book the room it clearly states that there is both a bar and a restaurant in the list of facilities and clearly shows images of this in the photos, as an addition to this again indicated in the photos we expected to be able to use the upper deck to sit outside if we wanted but this was closed off. The signage outside of the hotel also indicated the availability of a restaurant.
We had a fantastic day in the city and but would certainly not recommend the hotel and on any future trips to Gothenburg we would not choose to stay here.

Maybe this once great sailing ship ruled the waves, but now looks fallon, uncared for and in great need to re establish its past history!!!

Unfortunate experience
The room we came to was only superficially cleaned, there was a used copper piece, plastic on the floor, dust in several of the corners and a window that could not be closed completely.
When we were in the bath we had to turn off the water because the drain had stopped.
The upper bunk in both rooms was in such poor condition that the slightest movement caused great noise.
Also, there was so much sound between the rooms that we could follow the neighbors' conversations, etc.
In the hallways lay garbage and bed linen that were not removed in the days we were there. The shared toilets were dirty.
The furniture in the common areas was worn and in several places the areas seemed more like storage. Overall, the hotel seemed closed off.
The breakfast (which is included for free) was also a boring experience. Dry bread, egg replacement, etc.
After the first night we wrote to the hotel's customer service but we still haven't heard from them, but have received an email asking us to rate our stay!?!
But on the positive side we can mention;
Very good location in the city's many activities and clean linen...
