The location was very convenient, it was very close to the university, tourist sites, and shopping. The beds were comfortable and the staff helpful.

Drunken staff tried to take my stuff

A perfect hotel for those who love responsive walls, hard beds and drunken staff trying to grab your stuff! When you arrive at the locked front door with frozen fingers, just be charmed that the phone number on the door is no longer in use. So fun! And when you finally find a phone number that works via detours on the internet, you will hear that you have already received a port code in the mail even when you have not.
But the real adventure begins if you happen to forget something in your hotel room! When I realized 20 minutes after checking out that I had forgotten my computer charger, I called and asked if they could put it away so I could pick it up in the evening, and was met with a "we'll see." Then my phone calls and texts went unanswered all day until I was told by the hotel owner in the evening that I could get a computer charger that someone else had forgotten or buy one from him. I said I would like my own charger back please, and then he said he didn't really have the energy to look for it because he had blacked out and needed to drink wine "to be human again".
Then when I got back to the hotel the visibly drunk owner offered me a mobile charger, then he tried to convince me that I hadn't left my computer charger with them ("I'm 90% sure it's not here") and then he tried to give me a charger for electric toothbrushes! Finally I found my own charger tucked away in a cupboard, the hotel owner explained that the cleaner must have put it there because he's good "even though he's from Mali".
Thank you Magley's Smiley Inn for an unforgettable experience! You are the perfect choice for those who do not want to experience a serious hotel business but rather than Kafkan fever dream where anything can happen!

Good location, but no big shot

Great location and comfortable beds, but my stay still gets low rating.
To begin with, the port code did not arrive on the email as it should, so I had to remind the host of it. There is no reception or similar.
When I got to my room, the shower was running. Probably to hide the fact that it smelled from the shower well… Since the bathroom has no real doors, the room itself smelled. However, the smell disappeared after I showered and aired myself.
The second and last morning the breakfast room was locked, even though I had half an hour to spare. Knocked, but no one was there. Really not ok!

Worst hotel experience ever.
The owner was confrontational and unpleasant.
We chose not to stay the second night.

The hotel did not issue the code to the door why I could not check-in. I sent both an e-mail on the day of the check-in and called both the regular number and emergency number without getting any response. Hotels also contacted them without getting a response. 3.45 in the morning of the checkout day (the day after), I received an e-mail with instructions and the code. Will never book this hotel again. Similar hotels like Forenom and Hotel Finn have never failed to issue a code/answer the phone if they have forgot to issue one. Strongly recommend to opt for those hotels instead.
I was left to book a hotel late evening on a Sunday, happy I know Lund, others might not be equally lucky.
